Over 5,000 Instant Ramen Noodle Reviews Since 2002
Been a while since I’ve done a pho review. I would definitely say I’m a fan of pho, but definitely the beef varieties. Where I live, there’s no end to the pho restaurants – I’m guessing there’s probably at least 20 within 5 miles of here. Anyways, let’s check this one out.
Here’s an interesting looking one from Malaysian company Twetnty-Twenty. I remember seeing this on Instagram and wondering who made it and if I could try it. I sent a message and it turned out the poster was the manufacturer, and so here we are. Let’s have a look at this curry rice noodle!
A while back, Ah Lai sent me samples of their regular white curry noodle. Today, It’s their rice vermicelli version! Here’s a little about rice vermicelli from wikipedia:
Here’s one from low in the hamper that needs reviewing! I’m woindering if perhaps ‘senior’ isn’t the correct word in this one; the title as it is sounds like something for older folks. Perhaps they’re going for something more along the lines of ‘classic?’ I don’t know, but it’s time to review this one – let get to it!
I’ve reviewed a few of these Hong Kong instant rice noodles in the past, but never looked up the meaning of Ho Fan. I did some research and found this on wikipedia:
Bihun (or beehoon) is basically rice vermicelli. Pama is a brand by President Rice Products of Thailnd and looks to be for sale in Malaysia. Make sense? Okay now on to the flavor: tom yam. Tom yam (or tom yum) is a very standard Thai variety – spicy, lemon/citrus, spicy, and usually shrimp. I was told that the creamy isn’t from dairy but from the boiling of shrimp! Let’s check it out!
Here’s the second of three varieties of this new ‘Rice Ramen.’ This one is a bit different than the last as it boasts a red miso and uses millet and brown aspects for its noodle. What’s really great about these new products is that they’re Vegan friendly and gluten free – lots of people have asked me about gluten and vegetarian instants and I’m thinking these might be a nice one for those folks to try. Let’s check this one out!
Been some time since I’ve had a crab flavored noodle from Vietnam, so I thought why not today.. Looks cool – let’s check it out!
Another one that was donated by a friend in Indonesia – thank you! So this is something very different – kua chap. It looks like from the package, these are like large tube noodles, although it does not seem that way from the way this package feels. It’s thin and flat – hmmm… Let’s have a look!
I reviewed another version of this in #502. It looks like this one is somewhat different; different color packet and a different sized rice noodle chunk. Let’s try it!
Here’s something I got at KS Mart in Lynnwood, Washington. Looks pretty awesome – Han’s Korea! Well, let’s give it a try.
While at the KS Mart in Lynnwood, Washington, I saw this and had to give it a try. Wasn’t sure what (if any) noodles would be within, although I know one thing: topokki (or ttebokki) are really neat – they’re like enormous noodle chunks. Korean food is awesome stuff. Here’s one from Thailand – Sunlee. Rice noodles eh… Alright, let’s give it a try.
I don’t usually review these but I saw this one and I thought it looked kind of interesting. Basically, take instant rice and shred it up and then use instant noodle packets and steep it for a few minutes. Basically it’s like rice noodle mush!
Rabokki huh? Ramyun and Ttebokki perhaps? Let’s check this one out!

Here’s another one that was lurking in the bottom of the hamper! Been kind of wondering where it had gone – well, here it is! I must say this is my favorite logo ever – looks like a heart and a bomb, doesn’t it? Curious how this one will be. Let’s go!
I thought today I’d review this one, sent to me by the nice folks at Ramen Place – thanks! Was thinking it would go nicely with some of the stir fry veggies I’ve been enjoying lately. I also talked with Ray from Nongshim today – found out a little bit of information that you might find interesting if you didn’t know. Nongshim’s logo is a seed, and Nongshim translates to ‘Farmer’s Heart.’ I like that – and we’ll see how I like these noodles now!
Here’s another one my sister brought me back from Canada! This one piqued my interest – gado-gado? Wikipedia says:
This is one that’s been in the ramen hamper for a while and so it’s time to give it a go. I’m usually a little leery of the noodles with the thick black coating, but I’m throwing caution to the wind; I liked the last Jjajangmen I had so why not!
Hey what do we have here? Well, this isn’t instant noodles but it’s an instant cup of rice. I’m going to count this one in the mix since I would n’t be surprised if someone comes across this and asks ‘hey, what is this stuff?’
This is another from the DJ-DOC line. DJ-DOC is a kind of boy band/dance trio from Korea from what I see on Youtube. The last one of these I had was pretty spicy and like a lasagna! Curious how this one’ll be! This one has ‘jjolmyeon – what’s that you say? Here’s a little wisdon from the Wikipedia:
A brand I’ve never reviewed before I know. This one came from my mother in law! Thank you! Sounds like it should be tasty – spring onion sounds tasty.
So here’s something new but kind of like a lot of other stuff…

So when I’m not eating instant noodles, I eat other things. Here’s one of them. A can of Progresso Light Chicken Noodles soup with some dehydrated onion and a spoonful of Mae Ploy yellow curry and a few dozen grains of rice in there. Pretty awesome stuff.
This is definitely the most unique of all the packages of noodles I have ever found. Let’s get started.

Phở bò? Here we go! I like the picture on the lid – looks very inviting and fresh and tasty. We shall see how it tastes! Join me won’t you? WON’T YOU?
So three hundred reviews behind this and onward we go! So here’s a brand I’ve never seen before. A lot of funny stuff on this package – shrimp flavor, bad English… But proof is in the eating right?
So here’s something a little different! Healthy and consomme usually aren’t words I see one packages of instant noodles!
So spell-check wasn’t working the day you made the lid for this stuff was it folks? No matter – I will be forgiving on that note as I review a bowl of noodles that claims to have onion flavor – and I really like onions so this should be awesome!
