A couple months are, I received an email from a stranger who said they were a fan of the site and developed an app for me. I was kind of confused on how to take that at first, then realized how awesome that was and really excited about it. I figured since the midterms are over and nobody gets $5000 (ha! like they would have at all), I thought this would be a great time to share this.
Ramen Journal can be found at www.theramenrater.com/journal. So, what does it do?
It has a barcode scanner – and it’s freakishly fast. I can grab a pack of instant noodles at the store to see whether I’ve reviewed it or not. After over 5,000, I think I’m running out of mentaal storage space…
It does also have a text entry field – as soon as you hit a letter, it starts populating with results – again, it is really fast. From both options, you can go straight to my review of the product or it will take you to Amazon so you can get one as well.
You can rate/rank your own list of varieties – it even has a backup! It’s really cool!
Best of all, there’s nothing you have to download. here’s how to install on your home screen –
On Android (Google Chrome)
1. Open Google Chrome and go to the website you want to install.
2. Tap the three-dot menu icon in the top-right corner of the browser.
3. Select Install and create shortcut (or Add to Home screen).
4. Rename the app if you wish, then tap Install or Add.
On iPhone (Safari)
1. Open Safari and go to the website you want to install.
2. Tap the Share button (the square with an upward arrow) at the bottom or top of the screen.
3. Scroll down the list of options and tap Add to Home Screen.
4. Toggle on Open as Web App (if available on your iOS version), then tap Add.
