Over 5,000 Instant Ramen Noodle Reviews Since 2002

I got this colorful package a few weeks ago from a reader. She had asked if I could identify and find an instant noodle for her.

Here’s another one sent by a friend in Indonesia – thank you! La Fonte is a line by Indofood, makers of Indomie. I don’t usually review boxed instants like this but this one’s really interesting. I reviewed a different one a while back and though I ought to give this one a try. Let’s check it out!

Here’s one that Joe B. and Sarah B. sent me from Nottingham, UK – thanks! Tesco’s a big grocery store chain in England. One thing I’ve found that is a little difficult are European nutrition facts on instant noodles. It’s odd; they like to do a per 100g showing, then a per serving. The number often seem ridiculously off; a lot of the time it’s a calorie vs joule issue (yep – they use a different measure of energy over there too). Let”s see how this chicken and mushroom flavor cup goes!

Here’s one that is made in one country for sale in another. This is made in Malaysia, but most easily found in the UK. Anyways, let’s check this one out!

I’ve always found these quite interesting. Why? Well for starters, they seem to always have a pack of seaweed with them, and not a small one but a decent portion. Also, the noodle blocks are unique as well. How? Well, read on and you’ll see. This one is from Hong Kong – let’s check it out!

Here’s another one of the Mamee Chef line – spicy chicken shiitake. These are their premium line of products, designed in concert with celebrity Dato’ Chef Ismail. Let’s have a look!

As I’ve mentioned before, I’m not a huge fan of mushrooms. I’ve liked them a little more and more over time, but they’re really not something I seek out and enjoy thoroughly. On the other hand, my wife absolutely loves mushroom.s and savors them. She also really likes udon, so I thought I’d make these for her. Let’s open this bag up and see what’s inside.

Thought this might be a good day to take care of a mushroom flavored variety. FYI – these have 4 portions in a pack. Let’s check it out!

Another great box of instant noodles from Joe B. of Nottingham, England! Curious to see what exotic varieties lurk within!

Onward and upward with Meet The Manufacturer! My wife is home today and she loves mushrooms – thought I’d share this one with her. Let’s check it out!

Here’s one we got during our summer vacation. Found it at the Uwajimaya in Beaverton, Oregon. Mushrooms… Well, Let’s give it a go!

More mushroom noodles. They certainly looks nice from the pictures on the package – hao hao about we give ’em a try? Ugh…

So today I have two mushroom flavored instant noodles I’ll be doing. First off will be this Unif/Tung-I mushroom pack. What’s interesting about this one is that Unif Tung-I is usually from Taiwan, but this one’s from Vietnam. Anyways, let’s try this one and see how it is.

Okay, let me explain.I have been going through every review meticulously for the last few days and you will see why in my next post, but I notice that review #91 was skipped for some reason. So, this will be it. Not a big mushroom fan but hey, the vegetable one this company made was alright so let’s give this one a try.

Here’s another onbe sent by Michelle L. of New York – thanks! This is made in Thailand and says it’s mushroom flavor. Well, let’s give it a go.

See? it really says it right there – stewde chicken of mushroom! I think this has to be one of my favorite misspellings yet! My sister brought me this back from Canada earlier this year. Let’s have a look!

Here’s another one of the Fashion Food varieties.

The noodle block.

Dry seasoning packet

Check it out – the new Shin Black cup! Onion flavor! I’ve had one of these chilling on my shelf for a while now – been wanting to review it and now that it’s out on the market, I can! Let’s check it out!

Here’s another one of the big JML bowls sent by Michelle L. of Tarrytown, New York. Mushroom chicken eh? Alright, let’s give this a try.

Well, this is the end of the line. A few months ago, Cindy C. from England sent a nice big box of instant noodles containing many kinds of Super Noodles and Pot Noodle and this is the last of the Pot Noodle! After this, there are two pouches I’ll review called ‘Mug Shots.’ Thanks again Cindy! This has been a lot of fun!

Here’s one that has been in the noodle bin since the trip to California my wife and son and I took in July! Time to eat. Mushroom pork just didn’t sound too good, but you know me, I have to try it.
UPDATED REVIEW – uses a recipe from EatYourKimchi.com! See it HERE!

First off, I want to thank Greg B. of Florida for sending this one in. Shin Ramyun Black – wow. So I should mention about the ‘ controversy in South Korea about this product. Nong Shim advertised that it had more nutritional value than it really did and was fined for misleading advertising ( Korean Herald article here ). It was extremely popular and I believe it still is. It costs much more than regular Shin Ramyun too. I’ll have to say that I’ve been waiting for just the right day to review this one! Let’s see what’s inside this interesting package of South Korean instant noodles!

Tried the Spring Onion last week and thought it was good so thought I ought to see if I can find more of these. Sure enough, found a couple at Safeway.

So here’s something interesting. This is for the health conscious noodle fan – from Korea, we have Nongshim’s Noodle Lite 275.

Some new stuffs of happiness from the folks at Vina Acecook – we have vegetarian flavour. I’m enthused! I’m curious if this will taste like a vegetarian – vegetarian created with Japanese technology, that is!

The last of the Paldo Dosiracs. Mushroom eh? Here ya go…

Veg on top, powder on bottom.

Okay so my theory here is that if it says it’s tasty, there’s an extremely good chance it isn’t. I’ve never been a mushroom fan but I’ve been coming around lately. This however looked gross to me and has been sitting at the bottom of my noodle box for a while. Today I decided no longer will I fear these noodles. No longer will I cower under my afghan. Bring it noodles – let’s see how ya are.

So this is the last of the Fortune Udons. Was waiting for the right time to make it for my beloved Kit and right now I’m going to say that she finds it to be absolutely excellent.

I’m not sure but this may be the last of the Myojo fresh udons! Ah well – they were a lot of fun! Hopefully there will be more flavors…

Click image to enlarge. Slightly spicy. The mushrooms don’t actually have a lot of flavor. The mushrooms were a bit mushy. There’s some yellow stuff that I don’t know what it is… The little yellow bits taste like egg… The noodles are good but they’re hard to eat – they don’t want to stay on a fork and are slimy. I wouldn’t say this stuff is anything special. 2.3 out of 5 stars. Get it here.

Ve Wong: Mushroom Pork
Stars: *
Notes: Yuck, This stuff smelled and tasted like mushrooms.
In fact it had bits of dehydrated mushrooms. I don’t
really enjoy mushrooms all that much, especially
the ones that are slimy. The soup wasn’t even edible.
