I must admit, it’s been an interesting stroll down memory lane retrying these about ten years after I had them previously. I remember back then I would walk every day to the Asian grocery store, pick a pack, come home, then review it. Much has changed since those reviews pre-1000, that’s for sure. This one I remember being quite nice. Let’s check it out!

Another one that I’ve not samples in many, many years – October of 2010. Curious how it’ll be – I generally remember liking all of these Doll brand ones so we shall see.
Time for some more Doll noodles! I reviewed these very early in my reviewing career and they definitely need another look. Since it’s been so many years, this one gets a fresh look. Let’s check it out!
Detail of the packaging (click to enlarge). Looks to be meat free, but check for yourself. To prepare, boil the noodles in 500ml of water or 3 minutes. Add in sachet contents. Finally, stir and enjoy!
It’s been years and years since I had this so it’s getting a fresh new number . If you haven’t tried this range of varieties (there’s a ton of flavors) then you’re missing out. Let’s check this one out.
Two things about this one. First, this was got on our last trip to Canada which seems like forever ago. We used to visit the wonder of the north about once a month but now the borders are shut tight. Plus, this was one of the very few varieties I got up there that the border agents didn’t confiscate. They confiscated varieties that are now even sold here so that was kind of silly but oh well.
Here’s one I found up in Canada at Aberdeen Centre in a shop that was rife with Hello Kitty plushies and exotic candies and snacks next to the food court – I want to say it was called something like Paint Box or Art Box. This one was a nice surprise as it’s been tough to find Doll Brand varieties other than their export pack versions around here. Another one I reviewed as part of a series of Hong Kong varieties in conjunction with an interview by Apple Daily news of HK. I have a feeling if you dig through my reviews for the word abalone, you’re not going to find scads of varieties I’ve been very fond of. I’m hoping this might be one I enjoy, but I have my doubts. I guess the only way to find out it to try it with an open mind and mouth. Let’s give it a go!

A while back, I was all but out of instant noodles and put out a call for some. One of the people who responded was Prima Taste – they sent some from Hong Kong and this is one of them – thank you! My wife is a big fan of Hello Kitty and we’ve tried the Curry flavor one in the past. Let’s have a look in this soy sauce flavor one!

This one surprised me; I haven’t reviewed anything by Doll brand in a very long time and I know it’s a popular brand in Hong Kong. It’s interesting that Colin has access to such a different range of products on the east coast… Anyways, from what I can surmise, mifun might also be known as maifun. These are rice vermicelli. I thought to myself recently that it would be great to end 2014 and start 2015 with a new top ten list – but from where? A couple places came to mind, and Hong Kong sounded like a good one. I’ve found a lot of excellent instant noodles that have been from Hong Kong. Been hoping to see more arrive here in the United States, but many of the ones on this list I’ve found up in Canada. I would definitely like to reach out to instant noodle companies in Hong Kong to take part in Meet The Manufacturer; there’s not been a Hong Kong participant yet! Thanks to Nathan R. of Vancouver, Canada, I have this wonderful package of noodles that I will be devouring shortly. Was sure I’d had every variety of the Doll line but apparently I haven’t – I think maybe this one just isn’t distributed in the USA.
So I’ve been quite a fan of Doll’s varieties – they’ve always proven to be quite nice. So here’s their beef variety.
Always a big fan of the Doll brand stuff. Spicy pork huh? Awesome – sounds like a part of a wholesome breakfast!
So recently I reviewed the pickled vegetable and the chicken Doll noodles and they were excellent. Spicy beef is hopefully as good.
So here’s another Doll instant noodle. Sounds like a regular old flavor and shouldn’t be anything all that amazing. We’ll see.
So we went to 99 Ranch Market yesterday and turns out there were two more kinds of Doll instant noodles they had that I’ve not tried! So here’s the first, pickled vegetable.
Sesame oil flavor – shouldn’t be too hard to get this stuff right eh? We’ll see how this comes out.
Doll Brand eh? Hmm… Haven’t had any noodles by these guys in a long time. Shrimp sounds good this morning. Let’s give them a try. I like how it also let’s me know that they are yummy by exclaiming that they are yummy right on the front of the package – that’s useful consumer information right there!

Notes: A nice sqare box of noodles – hot chili flavor was alright – not too hot though.
One thing I found very unique about this particular bowl was that it came with a a little packet of tea!
