I reviewed these a long time ago and found the noodle to be very rubbery – low score. More recently, I found them again on discount so I thought I’d give them another try and had the same results. Well, that prompted the owner of the company to reach out and let me know that the one I found at Dollar Tree was not the most recent iteration. He told me the new version is much better and asked if I’d give them a chance for redemption. I don’t like handing out low scores; I like to share the best of the best when I can honestly do so. Well, he sent product and here we are. Let’s find out if this latest version is worthy of redemption! Good luck, Immi!
Immi Black Garlic “Chicken” (New Version) – United States
Detail of the packaging (click to enlarge). Looks to be meat free but check for yourself. To prepare, boil noodle block in 2 cups of water for 6 minutes (8 minutes for softer – which I’ll be doing). Transfer ramen and 1 cup water to a bowl. Add in sachet contents and stir 1 minute. Finally, stir and enjoy!

Finished (click to enlarge). Added chicken, egg, sesame seed, scallion, and crushed red pepper. The noodle has been an issue in the past, but not here. In previous versions, it could be so rubbery it would squeak on ytour teeth. While it is soft, it does have a light chew to it and it’s got a rustic feel – it works. The broth has a nice and rich chicken flavor. Congratulations – this version is decent! Happy to see! 3.75 out of 5.0 stars. UPC bar code 850016318053.
