#3982: Mamee Monster x Daebak Ghost Pepper Daging Cendawan Pedas - Malaysia

So far, I’ve been pretty happy about Mamee’s Ghost Pepper range. Well, This one happens to be spicy mushroom flavor. I’m not incredibly fond of mushrooms; I’m alright with the texture, but the flavor generally kind of puts me off. That being said, I have experienced mushroom varieties I’ve likes, so hoping this is one of those. Let’s give this one a try – there will be a mukbang video below as well… ...see full post

#3407: Vifon Viet Cuisine Asian Style Instant Noodle With Mushroom – Vietnam

#3407: Vifon Viet Cuisine Asian Style Instant Noodle With Mushroom - Vietnam

This one was sent in by a reader named Steven – thanks! So I’ll start off with saying I’m really not a big fan of mushrooms. I’m curious though because this one does contain a retort pouch – but my hopes aren’t up. That’s okay though because I’ve been pleasantly surprised in the past. Let’s give it a go! ...see full post

#3269: Vite Ramen Vegan Mushroom Shio Instant Noodle Soup – United States

#3269: Vite Ramen Vegan Mushroom Shio Instant Noodle Soup - United States

The third of the Vite Ramen offerings. The first time around when I sampled the prototypes, this was my favorite – curious how I’ll like it this time around as full fledged version 1.0! I should mention that I hear that there will be an updated version coming soon – 1.1? 2.0? Not sure but definitely will be giving the three another go when they update them. Let’s get started. ...see full post

Meet The Manufacturer: #3015: Vite Ramen Vegan Mushroom Shio – United States

Meet The Manufacturer: #3015: Vite Ramen Vegan Mushroom Shio - United States

Today we kick things off on this interesting Meet The Manufacturer series with Vite Ramen’s Vegan option. If you didn’t know, there are three varieties from Vite Ramen – at least initially. Also, just so you know at the outset of this and the following reviews, these are prototypes. From what I’ve been told, this is what you’ll be getting, however the sachets in the final iteration will look different. So let’s give this first one a try! ...see full post

Meet The Manufacturer: #2781: Mr. Noodle Onions Mushroom Spice Taste Noodle

Meet The Manufacturer: #2781: Mr. Noodle Onions Mushroom Spice Taste Noodle

This one sounds interesting. While not a big fan of mushrooms, I do find that the onion is probably my favorite vegetable next to bell peppers. Well, maybe at par with bell pepper. I really like onions and bell peppers, let’s just leave it at that. Let’s take a look inside and see how it is. ...see full post

#2565: KOKA Mushroom Flavour Instant Noodles

#2565: KOKA Mushroom Flavour Instant Noodles - Singapore - The Ramen Rater

I’ll be the first to admit – I’m not particularly keen on mushrooms. I mean sure – they’re alright                                              sometimes in with other things, but I’m just not a big fan of fungus. I always try to give them a good chance as with any kind of food -= and the same with instant noodles that are mushroom flavored. Let’s see how this one is. ...see full post

#2170: Maruchan Ramen Noodle Soup Mushroom Flavor

Here’s another one sent by a reader named Colin – thanks again! Today, I thought I’d cook up something for my wife Kit. Her actual name is Christine, but I’ve called her Kit for years. She’s always been a big fan of mushrooms – in fact, it’s because of her that I’ve started to like them. Oddly, here’s a Maruchan instant noodle I’ve not reviewed yet. I didn’t even know it still existed til Colin sent it over. Let’s have a look at this one. ...see full post

Disney Noodles From Nissin Thailand!

Walked to get the mail today and the mailman gave me this box. Wasn’t sure what it was and then remembered! Nissin Thailand has a line of Winnie The Pooh themed noodles I saw a few times on instagram. I asked my contact Ms. Janenate about getting some samples and here they are! You might remember her name from the Nissin Thailand Meet The Manufacturer (check it out here). The neat little cups have little Winnie The Pooh fishcake in them! Let’s look inside! ...see full post

Meet The Manufacturer: #2079: Nissin Nupasta Carbonara Flavour Instant Noodle

Well this looks interesting – Italian inspired pasta in a take out box style package. Reminds me of the Cup Noodles Pasta Style from Japan a reviewed before – at least in color scheme and design on the package. It looks like it stops there though! Let’s see what we’ve got here! ...see full post

#2065: Four Seas Kung Tak Lam Vegetarian Noodle (Mushroom)

I had a bit of trouble figuring out what this variety was called – until I scanned the back of the package and noticed it on the top left corner. This is one that I received from Apple Daily of Hong Kong for a special news feature. Kung Tak Lam is a popular vegetarian restaurant in Hong Kong. Let’s crack it open and give it a try! ...see full post

Meet The Manufacturer: #1877: Myojo La Ramen Spicy Mushroom Flavour

It’s no secret that I’m a fan of the spicy stuff. Also it should be known though that I’m not usually a big fan of mushrooms. I will try anything and everything I can get my hands on though – and in the last year or so, I’ve been finding mushrooms a bit more to my liking. My fingers are crossed for this one! Let’s check it out. ...see full post

#1812: Master Kong Mushroom Instant Noodle

There’s a new Asian Food Center on 130th & Aurora – went there hunting for some of the fruit I got to try in Thailand and found mangosteen – and quite a few instant noodle varieties, this being one of them. It’s pretty far and few between that I find Master Kong varieties – always kind of a treat! I want to thank Bobby Y. from Canada for help in translation on this one! Let’s have a look at this one from China! ...see full post

#1729: Vedan Zan Vegetarian Instant Noodle Series Shiitake Mushroom Flavor

Here’s one we found up in Canada during my birthday trip earlier this year. This one’s a little tricky to figure out; the distributor/import sticker mentioned shiitake, but another site I saw mentioned carrot, and indeed there’s a carrot on the package. Anyways, this one looked kind of interesting so let’s have a look. ...see full post

#1604: Unzen Mushroom Honpo Shiitake Nutritious Noodle

So we’re moving. Seems like we just moved here a little while ago, but we’re moving again. I’m pretty glad too – new scenery is always nice and it’s closer to my wife’s work. I’ve been doing a lot of packing and throwing things away. During this I found this one that was under a couple of things. It was sent a while back by a reader – she was trying to find out how to get her hands on these as she really enjoyed them when in Japan. I figured it out and as a thank you, she sent me a pack! Translating this one has proven quite a task – I’m still not sure I’ve got it right in any way, shape or form. If I’m way off, let me know! Let’s look inside – I think it should be interesting. ...see full post

The Ramen Rater’s Top Ten Instant Noodles Of All Time Hong Kong 2015 Edition

I thought to myself recently that it would be great to end 2014 and start 2015 with a new top ten list – but from where? A couple places came to mind, and Hong Kong sounded like a good one. I’ve found a lot of excellent instant noodles that have been from Hong Kong. Been hoping to see more arrive here in the United States, but many of the ones on this list I’ve found up in Canada. I would definitely like to reach out to instant noodle companies in Hong Kong to take part in Meet The Manufacturer; there’s not been a Hong Kong participant yet! With that, here’s the top ten instant noodles of Hong Kong – the best and most memorable – from the last 1,553 reviews. Enjoy and Happy New Year, Hong Kong! ...see full post

#1403: Tesco Everyday Value Chicken & Mushroom Flavour Noodles

Here’s one that Joe B. and Sarah B. sent me from Nottingham, UK – thanks! Tesco’s a big grocery store chain in England. One thing I’ve found that is a little difficult are European nutrition facts on instant noodles. It’s odd; they like to do a per 100g showing, then a per serving. The number often seem ridiculously off; a lot of the time it’s a calorie vs joule issue (yep – they use a different measure of energy over there too). Let”s see how this chicken and mushroom flavor cup goes! ...see full post

#1365: Four Seas Seaweed Hot & Spicy Instant Noodle Mushroom & Beef Flavour

I’ve always found these quite interesting. Why? Well for starters, they seem to always have a pack of seaweed with them, and not a small one but a decent portion. Also, the noodle blocks are unique as well. How? Well, read on and you’ll see. This one is from Hong Kong – let’s check it out! ...see full post
