First and foremost, thanks to Pher Engi for sending this over! Soto segeer means ‘fresh soto.’ I did a little research and found that Jiwa Pagi means ‘morning soul.’ These noodles contain carrot and green beans – also no MSG here. These are healthy variety. Sounds interesting – this also the same company (Kobe) that makes the BonCabe instant noodles and seasonings. Oh, you might not know what soto is to begin with – Wikipedia, if you please…
Another one that came by way of Pher Engi – thanks again! Kaldu ayam just translates to chicken broth, so I’m guessing this will basically will be your standard chicken flavor variety from Indomie – not onion chicken, special chicken, or chicken curry – just chicken. Let’s give it a go!

Look at the pack here! So, what’s cabe ijo? Translates to green chili – and what’s neat it that the noodle ends up greenish from the sauce. Let’s give it a go!
Again, thanks to Pher Engi for sending this, among many other neat Indonesian varieties. This is a newer variety – and I’m sure you’re wondering what ayam geprek is – I certainly was. From the looks of things, ayam (chicken) and geprek (crushed) is basically breaded and fried chicken. Kind of like chicken strips. I found a recipe for it, but it’s looking like it might just be easier to buy a chicken strip from the local deli counter already prepared. Kind of a busy day so that might be the route I take but I’m unsure. Let’s give this a try.
BonCabe (bone-chabay) is an Indonesia spice mix which packs serious heat. This one’s heat level 15 – curious how ho it’s going to be! Thanks again to Pher Engi for sending this! Let’s give it a go!
Here’s something different – corn vermicelli! I’ve tried a different gauge of this paired with Ciptarasa mi goreng seasoning and it was really quite nice. This time I’ll try doing up a soup with Ciptaras onion chicken flavor. Let’s give it a go!
So this is a noodle with no seasoning, however the company that make this makes seasoning as well, so that works out great! These are made by Suprama of Indonesia – the same folks that make Best Wok – a great line of mi goreng varieties I really like. Let’s try this noodle in concert with some special onion chicken seasoning!

This is one I really loved for a long time when it was an export version to the United States, however it stopped coming our way. This stuff is top notch and really thrilled to be able to review it again. The name translates to curly noodle with grilled chicken flavor. It also comes with a soup to be served alongside. Let’s begin.

She mentioned she started a company out of her apartment in New York – one to expose people here to the flavors and nuance of Southeast Asian cuisine. This is one jazzed company. Why? A big time influencer in Indonesia says that she likes their mi goreng better than Indomie’s. That’s truly a big deal – and so here we are with their new recipe for mi goreng to find out whether I agree. I did do the hot and spicy and honestly, that one was great – especially since it has a nicer oiliness oto the noodle and wasn’t as dry as their competition – I’d say I liked Best Wok’s better. Let’s see how this new original mi goreng fares.
Turns out they have a new recipe since the last time I tried their mi goreng. Sounds great to me; seems like it would be a little difficult to improve as their stuff is really quite good. Time to get an egg frying – let’s go!
So it’s been a rough past few days. Sore throats, barfing, runny noses, extremely horrid body aches. My friends, we got the Omicron. Yeah – the whole house. We’ve all been vaccinated too and regularly wear masks. This is no fun. But to break the insanity of it all and drudgery of existence with a 24/7 funky cloud hanging over my brain, we made some bread. It was fun – good bread too! Used Best Wok Mi Goreng, which was voted the best mi goreng instant in Indonesia by a well known critic over there. That’s pretty good – some stiff competition for mi goreng especially in Indonesia! Well, Here we go – let’s do the bread thing.
Found this one at an interesting store in Bellevue – called S*Mart. Yes, shop smart – shop S*Mart. This is the last review I’m doing this week. Guess what? I did 15 reviews this week. That’s a lot. It’s amazing when school is in session the things I can accomplish with a little peace and quiet! Well, let’s see if this packs a wallop or not.
You know, I was going to make this review #4000 – and I thought that would be pretty darn cool. But things change and I decided not to, obviously. Well, I’m glad I made the change as this was a mukbang and the spiciness didn’t result in any screaming or anything truly noteworthy – other than this one is impressive for other reasons – let’s check it out!

I only thought they had an original Indomie Mi Goreng cup but it turned out there’s a barbeque chicken one too. Quite a surprise – especially since I found it at a Middle Eastern market. Let’s give it a go!

This is your basic chicken instant noodle. It’s from ABC who I just did a short series on. We’ve been out of chicken lately and this morning I ducked out of the rain into the store and got some. $1.99/lb! That’s not bad, really. Let’s chicken it up!
Probably the best known (and deservedly so) dish of Indonesia is mi goreng. A combination of sweet soy, a spicy sauce, and a myriad of additions make it such a delightful dish. Today I’ll cook up this one which comes in a cup.

I’ve never had one, but watching her go through dealing with one before, I wouldn’t wish that on anyone. Luckily, when I type here it’s generally 100 days down the road that it’s published, so hopefully that stone is long gone. Evil things, these stones…

Awhile back, Lemonilo started producing a Mie Goreng variety which is honestly one of the best out there. Lemonilo puts everything in a healthy light. When they sent me the samples of their Mie Goreng, they included a shirt and a workout towel. I keep the towel on the stroller actually – handy when doing a dozen miles at a fast clip. This variety’s packaging clearly denoted it’s for the US market, however it’s made in Indonesia. This pack did’n’t come from them though – it was sent by a reader named James in Lakeside, California. Let’s give it a try!

They had these in 4 packs up in Canada at the Foodyworld store in Richmond, BC. I’m a sucker for Indonesian varieties I’ve not tried and so here we are. Vegetable flavor is always interesting. Will it be predominantly shiitake, broccoli? Butter? I guess we’ll find out!
The second of the Fitmee varieties sent by Empire International – thanks again! I sampled the first a couple days ago and was very impressed – it was a kind of buldak dry version that was pretty good and only 150 calories! This one has a soto flavor and is – get this – only 60 calories! What’s soto? Here’s some info from Wikipedia –

I was sent three different varieties of Mi Goreng from Best Wok a while back and finally we have the third of the three. Spicy seafood sounds real good today – real good. Let’s give it a look!
Found this one at the same place I found some spicy dumplings up in Vancouver, BC called Super 88. So, these are Indomie Mi Goreng flavored potato chips. I suppose there’s really nothing left to do but crack the bag open and give them a try!

Alright so about these – I received a 5-pack from the nice folks at the Indomie booth at the Taiwan International Food Expo in Taipei, Taiwan in November 2017. I asked a little about them. This pack you see here is specifically for Taiwan. So, what’s different? Well for starters, lots of Chinese on the pack. The main difference however is the actual soizie of the package. This one’s a little bit bigger than the ones found elsewhere, and this is unique to Taiwan. You can’t get them like this anywhere else in the world. Period. A huge difference? No, but still a difference. Here’s a little info from Wikipedia –
