Many years ago, I started out with a standard instant noodle – and then I decided to try Indomie. This was way before I even conceived of a website; I think I started enjoying Indomie well before anyone knew what the Internet was. I would say between this and the satay varieties, I’ve enjoyed and shared many many cases over the years. I haven’t had this one in ages though – let’s check it out!
Indomie Instant Noodles Mi Goreng Barbeque Chicken Flavour – Indonesia
Detail of the packaging (click to enlarge). Looks to be meat free but check for yourself. To prepare, boil noodles in 400ml water for 3 minutes. Drain. Add everything in but fried onion and combine. Top with fried onion. Finally, enjoy with a fried egg on top!
The noodle block.
A dual sachet of powder base and fried onion garnish.
Three connected wet sachets – chili sauce, sweet soy sauce, and seasoned oil.
Finished (click to enlarge). Added spring onion, marinated egg, baked chicken, Chabe chilli sauce, and pepper flake. The noodles are the classic, wonderful Indomie. The flavor however definitely seems to have changed a bit; what they’re using to impart a chicken flavor just didn’t work for me and this surprised me. 2.0 out of 5.0 stars.
