Found this at our local Safeway the other day and honestly not feeling too confident on this being a showstopper given the history of this brand in my reviews. The little thing that says ‘includedes real deal chili crunch’ is a little odd. This could be good. Or not. Let’s try it out.
I was hopeful when I tried the pack version of Budae Ramyun. Formerly known as K-Army Stew, it looks like this is it’s progeny for sure. Is it? Let’s hit the bowl running.

Been holding off on this one until I had some seafood – and now I do. This is a spicy seafood stew called jjambbong – and they tend to be among my favorite varieties from South Korea. I think I found this one at Boo Han Market in Edmonds, Washington across from 99 Ranch Market. Well, let’s begin.
Well would you look at that – Pac Man! It’s nothing more than a different packaging, but I thought it was pretty cool. I played a lot of Pac Man when I was a kid… Let’s give it a try!
My lovely wife spotted this at our Walmart Neighborhood Market in Lynnwood, Washington. That place is literally like a meat locker – it’s cold in there. Really cold. So cold I couldn’t handle being in there – no clue why – I’d think it’d be expensive to keep it so damn cold. Anyways, ramen snack mix. Let’s do this.
So now that the Kpop cups are done for the time being, now we have this one. Made in South Korea for the US market. Let’s start. It’s Friday.
Here we have the final iteration of the Zoey cups. We started with the Korean version, then the plain jane Shin, and now the special Burger Hero. I could see consumers being very confused – I certainly was. Anyways, let’s begin.
What we have here is a hallowed legend in the spicy world – and this one is interesting! It came to me via Hunny’s Ramen – a purveyor of all things Buldak. This is the version sold in China- possibly Taiwan as well, I’m not sure. Nothing like a food product that features bombs on it. Well, once more into the breach? Check the mukbang at the bottom where my son Miles joins me – curious how he will tolerate this one!

I forgot I still had one of these so happy to give it a try today. It seems like everything I’ve tried recently has for the most part been from South Korea – nothing wrong with that, I just like diversity of the origin country to keep it interesting. Let’s give it a shot!
So I think a few of us got punked by Nongshim. Why do I say this? Well, the US Nongshim came out with two ranges of the KPDH – one that had three different flavors and one that had three different images on the packaging. I ordered three on Walmart’s website – and got three Shin Ramyun regular style. So here’s that. I’ve got all three versions of the Zoey cup – the Korean local version, the US Shin version, and the US ‘burger hero’ version. Confusing, isn’t it? Well, here’s the regular Mira.
The second of two Maggi varieties found at a local supermarket. Really happy to see this – hoping they come out with more Maggi for the US market! Let’s give it a try.
Time to continue the onslaught of Kpop Demon Hunters licensed Nongshim stuff. This is the version those in South Korea will find. Let’s give it a try.
So Ramen Bae came out with three protein varieties recently, two are dry, and this one’s with soup. Sounds like an interesting one to try. Let’s give it a go!
I’m really excited to try this one. The last two of these varieties have been incredibly good – the balance of cheese has been really quite nice. How’s this one gonna go? Read on.
The happy guy with the large hat is back! I gotta say these are big servings in these packs – a ton of noodles for sure. This is the third of the four the Tapatio folks sent – only one more after this. Let’s cook it up and hit it!
Topokki is a favorite of mine and topokki with noodle is usually rapokki, however this is with rice noodles. Would it be ripokki? Or wait, they might be sweet potato thread so is it swipokki? I dunno – it’s with noodle. Excited to try, let us begin.
As I write this, it is April Showers Day and Earth Day. I’m on Earth and indeed it is dumping rain outside. Ramen Bae makes some neat stuff – a myriad of toppings and mixtures to improve your humdrum ramen. This doesn’t look so humdrum though and I’m very curious. Let’s give it a try!
The last time I tried Immi I was impressed with the broth, however the noodles were rubber bands. A lot of influencers were extolling its virtues, but to me it was literally hard to eat. I know they changed things up a bit, but I never received any samples as the company had sent them originally. I asked for some as I really wanted to give them another chance. Years later, I went to the Grocery Outlet store and lo and behold, they were selling these packs for 99 cents, a fasr cry from the price I’d seen them at previously of upwards of $5. With an open mind, once again we go into the breach.
Well this is interesting. Not exactly sure where these are being manufactured, but they’re distributed by Nestle USA. I’ve always wondered why Maggi noodles really weren’t here; I mean the 2 Minute Noodles from India aren’t too hard to find, but nothing to speak of other than that. Hopefully this is the beginning of an onslaught of different varieties! Let’s give it a looksie.
A big thank you to my son Miles for this one – he’s become such a Buldak fan and alerted me to this one. Pretty crazy how up he is o this stuff… At the bottom will be a mukbang with him so don’t forget to check that out. Let’s give it a try! Oh – by the way, this is just different packaging for a Walmart tie in for Valentines Day. It’s not spicier or different, contrary to some folks on socials.
This looks to be a kimchi dry noodle – which always sounds nice. Tried quite a few over the years and curious what Bibigo will have in store. This is a Korean style ramyun made in Thailand for the US market. Let’s find out.
Here’s the US version of the KPop Demon Hunters Rumi cup. I’ve got both the US and Korean versions of the cups from Nongshim. Just a sidenote, this is just a different version of the film Frozen. Think about it. That being said, on with the review.

KPop Demon Hunters is still pretty popular… When that Golden song comes on the radio the kids are still singing along… The kids have this station here they like – they are serious heavy rotation – every time we put it on, it this awful I’m a dog I’m a muitt song… Anyways, let’s continue on…
What a weekend. Beat. Getting this post ready for tomorrow on Sunday night. It’s been a real rough couple of days. Looking forward to cooking this tomorrow! But, you don’t have to wait as it’ll be done when you see it, so here we go.
There’s a limit to characters in titles on many platforms. This name is incredibly long. YouTube allows 100 characters, and so stuff has to be abbreviated or just truncated. It’s a pain since you want people looking for a thing to be able to find it. I guess we’ll see how it goes. This is possibly the longest name – ever.
I wanted to get something next morning on Amazon and I needed to get $25 of stuff. This was a quick fix for that – not very expensive and I’ve not tried it in years. Asian Pantry via Gemini had this to say about this style – ‘Nagahama yatai ramen is a style of Fukuoka street food (yatai) featuring thin, fast-cooking noodles in a rich, cloudy pork bone (tonkotsu) broth, originating in the 1950s for fish market workers. Known for being quick, cheap, and creamy, it pioneered the kaedama (noodle refill) system. It is often sold as a “mild” instant, sometimes vegetarian, ‘ Let’s give it a whirl!
When we get boneless skinless chicken, the pieces are massive. So, I usually roll up my sleeves (I hate that term) and get all meat-mucky, cutting and bagging then tossing in the freezer. I do a lot of small pieces for reviews, but some not. Yesterday’s review employed a larger than necessary piece, so I have leftovers. I figured I’d better find a chicken variety and here’s the one I picked. Sounded nice – here we go!
You might be surprised, but this is a different version of this. Here is the version I got from an Australian friend. If you look at that review, you’ll notice a key difference; one that I’m sad and rather surprised was omitted as it was really the most unique part of it. Let’s give it a try.
After hunting for ages for this one I looked it up on the Walmart website and boom – here it is. Why this wouldn’t be everywhere alongside the tonkotsu and Korean styled variants I’ve no clue. I figure this could go two ways and hopefully the direction it does go is a good one. Let’s boot up the microwave and give it a try.

Found this at the HMart in Lynnwood, WA. This one is interesting; it’s an export version, but specifically for where isn’t clear – so it gets the Indonesia checkbox. It’s made in Indonesia, but labeling shows it being for the US market. Let’s cook.
