After hunting for ages for this one I looked it up on the Walmart website and boom – here it is. Why this wouldn’t be everywhere alongside the tonkotsu and Korean styled variants I’ve no clue. I figure this could go two ways and hopefully the direction it does go is a good one. Let’s boot up the microwave and give it a try.

Detail of the side panels (click to enlarge). Contains chicken and anchovy. To prepare, add in powder and vegetable sachet contents and room temp water to line. Microwave for 5 minutes at 1000W, then let stand for 1 minute. Add in liquid base. Finally, stir and enjoy!

Finished (click to enlarge). Added sauteed chicken, mint, sesame seed, and shichimi. Noodle came out very nice – light chew and good gauge. The broth is a nice bit of thickness and oiliness. The flavor of coconut is there, and a slight curry. The sad part is that it needs fish sauce or something – it’s borderline; scratch that – it’s bland. It really need a punch of savoriness. I’m not saying dump a bunch of salt in it either. It’s close, but no cigar. I was really disappointed – this should have been a show stopper. 3.0 out of 5.0 stars. UPC bar code 070662302026.
