Over the years, I’ve received different apparatus for cooking instant noodles. It started with the Rapid Ramen Cooker, a specially designed tray devised by a college student to make instant noodles easier to cook. More recently, the Ramen Now!, a Keurig-style machine for the kitched which heats from above and below. I was contacted recently by a gentleman from Mae Mai, a company making garnished. Alas, I screwed up – I did an unboxing video of their product, but I accidentally deleted the video! Well, I did it over and here it is. I’m in love with this garnish. It’s sweet, garlicky, onion, crisp, savory, and a little spicy. It’s my favorite recent discovery – try this stuff! Prima Taste Sends LaMian Blind Box Collection From Singapore!
This is a rad box with a story. Months ago, they were kind enough to send this over. However, customs got very freaked out about a box with little stuffed figures inside it; like it was a terrifying threat to national security! Well, I found this at my doorstep yesterday and was thrilled. A bonus was that my daughter Mimi had the day off from school, so we were able to do an unboxing together. She is really into these kind of things and the closest I can relate is I’m legally blind and these are blind boxes, so I must be compatible with them. So sit back and enjoy the video! Good Seoul Sends Topokki & Rapokki!
I was recently contacted by Good Seoul – makers of some really great rice cake topokki and rapokki! Topokki (tteokbokki) is rice flour cylinders that have a soft and chewy texture. Alone, they’re really not tasty, but paired with sauce they’re quite addictive. Rapokki is when you have these and introduce wheat noodles as well, making for a dual-textured experience. As today is April 1st (April Fools Day), I was lucky enough to have a neat box of odd varieties my wife got me arrive yesterday. These can be found online at Walmart or you can just drag your smelly ass into a Walmart store. It should be known that while launch dates are usually on the boxes, Walmart rarely adheres to them when it comes to putting things out on the floor as I’ve found regarding previous exclusive things. With that being said, I’ll show you the quartet and let you know my initial thoughts. I should also mention – this isn’t a joke, it’s a real thing. But you shouldn’t be too surprised.
