What do we have here? The second of two big bowls from Paldo! I’m in the mood for sampling spicy today- it’s cold outside. It’s snowing. Weatherman says we’re looking at 5 more inches of snow and gusty winds. It’s cold in here. Time to cook!

First off a big thanks to Chris G. for picking these up and sending them after his whirlwind trip around Europe! This one’s from Spain and the last of the ones he sent a little while back. This one’s soy sauce chicken. Let’s hit it!

Another one from James of Lakeside, CA – thanks again! So, what have we here? Well, this is a special ramen – clam flavor (shijimi) – specially about sumo (chikara). Clam noodle soup for wrestlers. Sounds interesting – let’s check it out!

KOKA released 3 varieties in this range and this is the second of the three I’m reviewing today. Duck is a bit of a mystery to me. I love duck and I feel that it is the most neglected meat in Western cuisine. In Asia I’ve had duck on every visit – it’s everywhere and it’s such wonderful, tasty meat.

Sriracha is a place I’ve been to in Thailand. It was very hot and the sky was a deep azure blue. Telephone poles were packed with wires – you’d have to see it. Looking out my window right now it’s cold, windy, and the forecast is calling for a week of snow here, just north of Seattle. I miss Thailand.

Here’s another one from James of Lakeside, CA – thanks again! This is an interesting one – a rice noodle tantanmen from Japan. The packaging certainly is neat looking, and it’s gota brand I’ve not heard of which is always something I like. New is goo, although from what I see this brand has been around for some time. Let’s take a look.

Here’s one from Menraku – these are indeed made in Japan, but definitely for the US market. This was sent by James, a reader from Lakeside, CA. I’ve reviewed a slew of Menraku varieties in the past, but recently seen a few new varieties and have been rather impressed. Let’s check this one out.

Good morning! I’m getting this post ready at 2am. I actually shot the pictures around 1am. Did 18 miles of walking yesterday and so when my buddy Matt decided to play with his Google Nest device and call me at 11:50pm and wake me up and alerted me to a bad leg cramp about o catch fire I ended up staying up. I’ll sleep tonight… Anyways, yeah – been a while since some pho – fingers crossed. Let’s give it a go!

These are made in Hong Kong for the US market. I found a myriad of cup varieties at 99 Ranch Market recently. These also are complimented by a full line of pack versions, but I’ve reviewed most of those over time from varieties sent by a reader back east.

This one came out of a Zenpop subscription box. Zenpop has great boxes featuring different themes every month with 7 different instant ramen varieties from Japan. Use the coupon code RAMENRATER for a discount!

Here’s one of a bunch that I found at a 99 Ranch Market near me. I have seen quite a few articles with folks saying that the correct name is Ranch 99 Market. This is incorrect. The store is called 99 Ranch Market. People will debate anything even though they are incorrect, shown data proving they’r incorrect, and just stupid. But year. Let’s look at this one.

Awhile back, Lemonilo started producing a Mie Goreng variety which is honestly one of the best out there. Lemonilo puts everything in a healthy light. When they sent me the samples of their Mie Goreng, they included a shirt and a workout towel. I keep the towel on the stroller actually – handy when doing a dozen miles at a fast clip. This variety’s packaging clearly denoted it’s for the US market, however it’s made in Indonesia. This pack did’n’t come from them though – it was sent by a reader named James in Lakeside, California. Let’s give it a try!

Today, we have one that was part of Japan Crate’s Umai Crate. So Japan Crate is a subscription service which has all sorts of different options for you. pretty neat stuff from Japan! There’s a coupon code for you too – just use THERAMENRATER to get a special discount at check out.

Hey look – something totally new and different from MyKuali! They told me that fish noodle is a hawker stall staple over in Penang. Very curious about this one, as this isn’t supposed to be spicy which is a departure from all their other varieties which do have a strong spiciness. Let’s give it a go!

Right now it’s about 3 weeks until Lunar New Year aka CNY. This is another neat variety found at 99 Ranch Market. They’ve got lots of treats and specialty items to celebrate the holiday and to be honest, this is one of my favorite times of year. This will post probably 3 months afterwards though. Special thanks to Annie T. for help in translation! Let’s check it out!

Here’s one from the trove of varieties sent by James from California – thanks again! I swear I had tried this but nope – never had. Let’s check it out!

We didn’t stay up to ring in the new year. Sad I know. Must be getting old. We did however head up to Canada on new year’s day. Found this while up there! Let’s give it a try!

Here we are, yet again. It’s hard – I really like the packaging at least. I’ve tried two of these Taihodien varieties and hoping this will be one I like. Thus far, they’ve been just to violently filled with Sichuan pepper. Just mean stuff! Hopefully for them the third time is the charm. Let’s give ’em a go.

Yeah – check that out why don’t you?! Little devils all over it and a wallop of sachets! I found this at our local Edmonds 99 Ranch Market yesterday along with the next one I’m reviewing. Let’s give it a try!

Okay so yes – these are mad ein South Korea. They’re made for the French market though. I recently reviewed the spicy flavor variety and made this one in the past and shared with daughter Miriam and really liked it as well. Let’s crack it open and give it a go!

I saw these on KOKA’s Instagram feed and thought they looked interesting! I sent them a message and in a couple weeks they arrived. These feature a non-fried noodle with different grains and purple corn! Let’s give them a try!

A new recipe for 2019 – they change recipes a lot at MyKuali. It’s definitely a Malaysian thing, that’s for sure. I like that though – definitely neat to see companies tweak recipes every so often and see what they come up with. Let’s give this one a try – I’m guess it’s going to be strng with a sweet prawn flavor.

Here’s one that came in a Zenpop box. Zenpop is a subscription box service – check em out and use coupon code RAMENRATER for a discount!

This one comes by way of James in Lakeside, CA. Thanks! Okay so yer it’s made in Japan but this is obviously packaged for US sale. I generally classify things for the country you’ll be able to buy them in. If it’s an export product that would go to a region, say Europe, it’d get given the originating country’s name at the end of the title. So there.

Yet another one of these cups! I think I actually have two more. It’s tough doing a series honestly; but it’s just something I have to do. Let’s see how this shrimp variety does.

Thus far, I’ve been quite pleased with all the different Mr. Kimchi varieties – soups and dry noodles. This is the cup, so I’m guessing it should be about the same as the dry noodle pack and bowl. Let’s find out.

Here’s another one I believe that was sent by Mr. Saturn – thanks again! So I translated this and it spits out creole chicken. Seems odd, but okay. I think this bears more investigation. Let’s give it a try.

This is a brand new variety from Malsyai’s MyKuali. This company’s had three different varieties in the past end up on my global top ten rankings and after trying the vermicelli and cup versions, here we have the pack (you’ll see the other two in upcoming reviews. Let’s give it a try!

I gotta say, there have been a TON of new recipes for this instant noodle. I don’t know how many brands are changing recipes out there, but it’s nice to know when they do. This is something they do in Malaysia, specifically Penang, Malaysia, an awful lot. The folks at MyKuali told me how you might go to a hawker stall one day and have something really great and a week later it’s almost unrecognizable in hopes of having the next super popular food item. Food creators there never seem satisfied with ‘good enough.’ Let’s see what this iteration of the legendary MyKuali Penang White Curry Noodle has to offer.

I really love Taiwan. I have been through Taiwan a couple times and visited a couple times. If you’ve never been, go. That’s all I have to say on the matter. It’s a neat place with so many different things going on. Let’s try this one!

Today we have a Zenpop.JP variety – so what’s Zenpop? They’re a subscription service for all things Japanese! Definitely, check them out. By the way, use coupon code RAMENRATER to get $3 off!

Simply looking at this bowl evokes memories of travel for me so happy… Penang is such a place of wonder and fascination. The sights, scents and sounds crescendo in a vibrant, harmonic din that haunts my soul in such a way that not a day goes by without a sigh of returning. As the mighty salmon is compelled to return whence it came, so I must return to old Penang someday to experience its charm.

I did a Meet The Manufacturer with this company a while back and thought I’d see if they had anything new – and they did! So here we go. I was in the mood for some Taiwanese stuff so this works out.

Today we have a Zenpop.JP variety – so what’s Zenpop? They’re a subscription service for all things Japanese! Definitely, check them out. By the way, use coupon code RAMENRATER to get $2 off!

If you didn’t know, Mamee Monster is a snack noodle. It’s all over – you should have known by now. You smash the bag, open it up and eat it. Yes, really. This is popular and common is Southeast Asia. Yup! Let’s take a look.
