#3659: Single Grain Spicy Beef Tripe Noodles - China

I went to 99 Ranch Market looking for mung bean sprouts and found seven different varieties of these big cups! I love these things. I like to call them flower pots. Very curious about these – last time I found some was up in Canada. I miss Canada… But these have a ton of sachets – so if you’re a fan of lots of sachets, take a look at these style cups. Let’s check it out!

Detail of the side panels (click to enlarge). Contains beef tripe. To prepare, add eveything in and boiling water to outer line. Cover for 5~6 minutes. Finally, stir and enjoy!

The noodle block.

A wet sachet.

A metallic sachet with a lump inside.

A wet paste sachet.

A dry powder sachet.

Peanut garnish.

A dry sachet of vegetables.

Finished (click to enlarge). Added egg, coriander, scallion, sesame seed, Salad Cosmo mung bean sprouts, and fried onion. The noodles are thin and very soft which was nice. They swim in a spicy Sichuan pepper infused broth that has a nice balance of heat and flavor. Peanuts add a satisfying crunch and tripe was good too. The only aspect of this one that I disliked is that the sesame paste (at least that’s what I think it was) wouldn’t evenly distribute and I got a big mouthful of it which was a little much despite a lot of stirring. But this one was really good – definitely worth a try. 5.0 out of 5.0 stars.  EAN bar code 6971860060845.
