They’ve come under fire for ‘tipping themselves over’ in the past, but I assure you they don’t have any intelligence that would be required for them to move of their own volition. #3491: Lemonilo Naked Ramen Chicken Curry Soup – United States
Awhile back, Lemonilo started producing a Mie Goreng variety which is honestly one of the best out there. Lemonilo puts everything in a healthy light. When they sent me the samples of their Mie Goreng, they included a shirt and a workout towel. I keep the towel on the stroller actually – handy when doing a dozen miles at a fast clip. This variety’s packaging clearly denoted it’s for the US market, however it’s made in Indonesia. This pack did’n’t come from them though – it was sent by a reader named James in Lakeside, California. Let’s give it a try!

They had these in 4 packs up in Canada at the Foodyworld store in Richmond, BC. I’m a sucker for Indonesian varieties I’ve not tried and so here we are. Vegetable flavor is always interesting. Will it be predominantly shiitake, broccoli? Butter? I guess we’ll find out!

I sampled the first a couple days ago and was very impressed – it was a kind of buldak dry version that was pretty good and only 150 calories! #3268: Fitmee Konjac Fried Korean Noodle – Indonesia
Here’s something pretty fascinating. First off, thanks to Empire International for sending these over! This is from Indonesia, is only 160 calories for the whole package, and… yeah. It’s konjac (pronounced like cognac).- These noodles are incredibly low cal and I’ve honestly had mixed resilts. I’ve had them that are horrible before – thicker noodles. But recently tried some that were thinner and they worked well. These are dry, and I haven’t tried them that way before, so we shall see how it goes. Let’s find out!

Okay so there are these noodles called konjac noodles. They’re really low calorie. The pack pictured above is only 60 calories – for the whole thing! But are they good? I’ve found the thinner the gauge, the better I like them. Watch me unbox these and see what they’re all about.

This is the one product for this Meet The Manufacturer. Look – green noodles on the package! They mentioned that they’re green as they’re infused with spinach – plus they’re baked noodles as well. This sounds really interesting – I’ve been a huge fan of mie goreng – I might have started my interest in instant noodles with a Japanese variety, but the second one I was really enamored with was a mie goreng. So this one is made in Indonesia and I got it from Nissin Singapore – thanks! The last one of these I tried was ‘Japanese Sauce’ flavor – and definitely was very Indonesian in flavor and quite amazing. Very curious about this one – let’s take a look.

#2798: Indomie Instant Noodles Mi Goreng Fried Noodles (Taiwan-only Version)
Alright so about these – I received a 5-pack from the nice folks at the Indomie booth at the Taiwan International Food Expo in Taipei, Taiwan in November 2017. I asked a little about them. This pack you see here is specifically for Taiwan. So, what’s different? Well for starters, lots of Chinese on the pack. The main difference however is the actual soizie of the package. This one’s a little bit bigger than the ones found elsewhere, and this is unique to Taiwan. You can’t get them like this anywhere else in the world. Period. A huge difference? This one was sent to me by Nissin Singapore (thank you!) and has some big differences when you compare to it’s Japanese cousin – spicy mayonnaise to start with.
