I met the folks at Myojo USA a while back and got the chance to try their wonderful products. I saw there was some new packaging for a couple varieties I’d not tried on Instagram and so reached out. They sent samples of those as well as a few other varieties I’ve not tried before – let’s check them out and thank you very much!
Time for some more Doll noodles! I reviewed these very early in my reviewing career and they definitely need another look. Since it’s been so many years, this one gets a fresh look. Let’s check it out!
I regularly receive samples of new noodles from the folks over at Mom’s Dry Noodle in Taiwan. I got to try these a while back as part of a shipment of noodles. I thought I’d give them a try and I was just floored. These things are good! The cracker is light almost like pastry, with baked on cheese, a little tasty onion flavor, and a bit of Sichuan pepper which is a gentle nudge – unless you eat a few and then builds to a little shove! These things are awesome – check ’em out and get some!
My buddy The Fat Hipster is a fellow YouTube Creator and you should check out his channel. He does taste tests and reviews of a lot of different thing – spicy noodles, chips, drinks – it’s pretty wide open and if it’s new, he’s on it. Recently, I was lucky to try the new Aces Huy Fong Sriracha Ramen Noodle Soup range with their initial 3 varieties. But now, two more have rolled out! Let’s take a look at the new flavors from the range!

Nissin came out with this range of Raoh varieties for the United States a few years ago to meet the demand for this premium product here. The difference? Raoh usually contains pork, something none in the range do. They’re produced in Japan for here. Let’s see what this one is like.

I constantly hear all this anti-Chinese sentiment coming from different places. Well, today I’m engaging in some noodle diplomacy. Pickled cabbage is tasty stuff. There are so many neat flavors that come from China that really need to be experienced by everyone I think. I mean one thing we all have in common – we all eat. This is definitely a bridge to understanding and happiness. Okay – let’s see if my belly is happy after sampling this one.
Here’s something interesting – this one’s from Malaysia. From the bacon in the upper right, I’m going with this is a kind of instant carbonara. Sounds good to me – let’s have a look!

I’m really not a mushroom fan, so I thought I’d see how much I disliked the variety. It’s pretty rare there’s a mushroom instant that I actually like, but it has happened… Let’s check this one out!
Found this neat little box of noodles recently at 99 Ranch Market and thought oh yeah I’m trying this. The name is kind of hard for me to say – pretty long too. I don’t always like to share which has been a failing of mine I’ll admit. Maybe my daughter will try it. Then I can say I shared, but I won’t say I love to share.
Last year, I decided I’d bow to some readers who thought maybe like cars, lists should have the following year in the title. This caused some confusion; but I really can’t just undo this. So, going forward, lists that come out in the latter half of the year, August and beyond, will have the next year’s name in the title. We’ll see how that goes. I had this one a while back but the packaging was a little different, so this one gets a new review. I’ve been incredibly impressed with the laksa and ton yum kung flavor profiles coming from Sau Tao – so much that they’ve been on the Top Ten for 2 years now. What’s more is they pair them with a myriad of noodle varieties. Let’s do up some laksa!

I found this at a large Asian grocery in Bellevue, Washington recently. It was the last one – I’m guessing part of a special promo for Lunar New Year. My guess is that this is going to be in the vein of the hot spicy stir fried noodles of South Korea, but in a Chinese way? I don’t know for sure, but it sounds interesting. Let’s give it a try!
This yeah has just been rough – for everyone I know. After the hardest part of it for me – the passing of my mother – I took a week off from walking after doing 1,000,000 steps on my Fitbit in June and dove in to working on top ten lists. I did four of them, all current as of review 3545. This list hasn’t been updated since 2017. I’ll be rolling out lists here and there for the next couple of months and maybe do this again a little ways down the road. Recently, I finished a Meet The Manufacturer series with Sau Tao. They shipped a whole pallet of samples of a myriad of different styles and varieties. A PALLET! Well, the upshot is that I still have so many different styles and varieties to review! Here is one of them.
Probably the best known (and deservedly so) dish of Indonesia is mi goreng. A combination of sweet soy, a spicy sauce, and a myriad of additions make it such a delightful dish. Today I’ll cook up this one which comes in a cup.
This sounds really good – and spicy! It mentions using different amount of spice sachets to increase or decrease the heat. I’m hoping this is a real barn burner! Let’s find out.

I guess the redeeming fact is that some varieties get to be pushed out of the list, which I’m sure they’re happy about.
