#5393: Baoji Gan Mian Pi Xiangwei Shizu Baobao Cold Noodle – China
This one was hiding in my meager hamper stash – found it at S*Mart in Bellevue, Washington. First off, this is a cold noodle – good for during hot weather – which we’re getting toward as the day I’m reviewing this is the last day of spring. You can steam these or microwave them – and the latter sounds like the easier option. I am making this on the last day of school for the kids. Egad. Let’s get started.
Advent Calendar Day 12 Nissin Cup Noodles Beef Aromatic Spicy Soup – Germany
Ah its a day for beef. I went to the grocery store to get some. I got my second shingles vax yesterday and today feel like death warmed over. Anyways, I tell the guy at the meat counter I need 1oz of their cheapest ground beef. He tried to give me 0.4lbs which is way too much, then a much smaller amount that was perfect, but when he tried to weigh it it wouldn’t register so he said it was on the house. So shout out to butcher at our local Safeway. But yeah I feel worse than crummy. Let’s see if I can cook a Cup Noodles this morning…

Time for some quacking with Peking Duck. I really think duck ought to become the nation protein – maybe just plain international protein of choice. Duck is really great so if you’ve not tried it, you’re missing out. Let’s cook this one up!

Here’s a variety that I found in one of MiauMall’s Nakama Noodles subscription boxes! These boxes are discontinued, however you can find their stuff at MiauMall – here is what they said about this one – “Here’s a tasty cup of ramen with a punch of flavor! This Kumamoto-style tonkotsu features a savory pork base with hints of garlic in the soup along with Kumamoto’s famous black garlic oil! And with roasted garlic chips and green onion toppings, this cup is full of flavor!”

Well, an interesting day. Last night my daughter got a hit and scored a run in her very last softball game of the season. Also, it turns out my son likes Froot Loops. It’s really a turning point for my family. Let’s give this one – made in Poland for the US market – a try!

Here’s another one I’ve not tried and it’s interesting. This one isn’t produced in Hungary like the previous ones I’ve shown but instead in Vietnam. I’ve noticed many companies producing in Vietnam – guessing that there’s a really good reason for this, probably has to do with cost and production volume? But that’s kinda outside my purview. This one’s Vegetarian friendly and touts a Korean spicy flavor. Sounds good – let’s give it a go!

Good morning, or good afternoon – it’s Saturday! We were up late – watched a movie called The Substance – if you like weird, it’s gonna fit the bill. Anyways, it’s a big day around here. My daughter Mimi is taking part in a special ‘Chorus Club’ performance at city hall with her school music class so that’s pretty awesome. But first thing I’m doing is editing images of noodles/taking pictures, etc. Next is to do this post and then cook, so that’s what’s going on. Let’s do this.

This is interesting to me as it’s gone through multiple changes. This one is Shin but green in color to distinguish it from Shin Green which is another product altogether. This used to be in red with a Vegan logo on it, but I think they decided more green would be less confusing. That being said, and as logical as that might be, I’ve encountered people wondering if this is Shin Green and not Shin Ramyun Vegan. Anyways, let’s try it out.

I was kindly given this one by my kids’ morning bus driver. He’s a really nice guy and we’ve talked a lot about instant ramyun from Korea – he’s Korean I should add. As I write this, it’s been almost a month since my last review. I took a week to do editing and readying 5 top ten lists – it takes a lot of time. Then I took a couple more weeks off. It’s been a nice break, but I’m done I need to do my work lol – I really enjoy it and productivity is like a drug to me when it comes to this stuff. What’s funny is that by the time this comes out, my kids will have a new morning bus driver and it’ll be the new school year. I posted #5212 today, so that’s…. Hmmm… Oh wow – mid November? Heck, I could take summer off… But I like doing this. Let’s do this one up real nice and big thanks to my kids’ bus drivers – they’re really nice people.

They had a sale at HMart of this variety and it was $4. I’ve had it many times and love this stuff – but this is a little different. It’s got a little yellow triangle, mentioning ‘non-soggy noodles.’ Generally, ramyeon that is cooked isn’t soggy or spongy. Is the noodle different from previous versions? The sale kind of seems to me that it might be. This is an export version for the US market. Let’s cook it up.

#5375: Nissin Cup Noodles Turkey Dinner Flavor Ramen Noodles In Sauce – United States
Well, it’s about to be Thanksgiving here in the United States and here we have turkey dinner in a cup. This is yet another one of the Limited Edition range Nissin Foods has been coming up with and honestly, I’m pretty happy that they keep coming out with these. I’ve seen images of mountains of this variety at Walmart on clearance for 25 cents each, but I don’t know if that’s true or not. On the bright side, you could just skip all the insanity and just have this and a Pumpkin Pie Cup Noodles and call it a turkey day. How’s that for a cheaper Thanksgiving – and it does generally come from Walmart. A recipe at the bottom shows you how to economically make a pumpkin pie using the pumpkin cup as well. Be festive in the face of financial ruin! Let’s give it a try.

The Big List – Major Update 2025.11.21
I’ve just finished updating The Big List – it is what it is called; a big list of every review I’ve ever done. Just spent 3 days working on it. For those who have asked permission to use the list for data projects, thanbks. I don’t charge to use the list – I just want to find out what people are using it for. I’ve had university professors, students, and more use the list for learning and for papers regarding databases and data interpretation. Anyways, the last update was January 2nd, 2025 and today I finished the update (took me a couple of days inputting the data) – and it’s November 21st, 2025.
The list is presented three ways – an Excel spreadsheet, a PDF (large and clumsy) and a scrollable list online. The XLSX file is sortable, which is very handy if you’re looking for specific trends and things – so that’s fun. I used to have that functionality set up on the website, but that doesn’t work anymore. I have not only the numbered version, but one with links but unsure how to make that work online, so the easiest thing to do is look at the list and just enter the review number if you want to explore the entry further. The formatting for the links is the following:
