I’ve been threatening this for awhile so I figure it’s time. You usually just crush it and sprinkle seasoning and shake it up. Not I think today – I’m going to make it as a dry noodle and boil it. This could destroy the known universe, but I have my doubts. It’ll ether work or it won’t. Let’ find out!
Ppushu Ppushu Tteokbokki – Alternate Cooking Experiment – United States

Detail of the packaging (click to enlarge). Modified where it says don’t boil it smash it. To prepare, boil noodle for 3 minutes and drain, saving one spoon water. Add sachet contents and spoon of water. Finally, stir and enjoy!

An instant noodle block.

A sachet of powder seasoning.

Finished (click to enlarge). Added yolk, fishcake, sesame seed, and pepper thread. The noodle was like a thin ramyun – really not bad. The flavor was strong – the saltiness wasn’t. It was very interesting prepared this way; more essence but less savory. I might have to try this again with a different flavor like the bulgogi. 3.5 out of 5.0 stars. UPC bar code 645175560098.
