Here’s the back of the package (click to enlarge). Looks to be meat free but check for yourself. To prepare, set the package on a hard flat surface. Punch it a few times to break up the noodle block. Open the package carefully, take out sachet and add in contents. Fold closed and shake. Finally, open and eat as a snack!

Finished (click to enlarge). The noodles have an excellent crunchiness. They aren’t ‘bust your teeth’ crunchy either so that’s nice. The flavor is a really odd one; a kind of weird artificial honey taste. I like it, yet I don’t. It’s hard to explain; I take a bite and then feel slightly disgruntled, then perplexed, then inquisitive. Hence, another bite. Same thing. Unfortunately I don’t get a ‘hey I really like this’ feeling. For a snack, I give this one 2.0 out of 5.0 stars. EAN bar code 8801045560458.

Last moth I was looking for a specific variety at a local Korean grocery called Boo Han Market in Edmonds, Washington. Much to my chagrin, they have changed their instant noodle section! It used to be way in the back and kind of lackluster. Now it’s right up front and they’ve got an even better selection than before. That’s where I found this interesting instant noodle snack.

First, chilli cheese crunchy instant noodles sounds pretty good – but coming from South Korea? Hey – why not. What I find actually quite odd is how our little Mexican friend above looks as though he has an angry look on his face while he wields the pepper issuing from his crotch. It reminds me of an album cover – well, I’ll just show you.

See what I mean? Shaft’s got his whacking stick at the ready. I tell you what though – this is a pretty badass album. In fact, I’ll see if I can find it on YouTube and slap it in at the bottom. Perhaps the movie – it’s a good movie too. Anyways, let’s check out this South Korean chilli cheese flavor instant noodle snack!

Finished (click to enlarge). The noodle chunks are nice and crunchy and very snackable. Indeed, they aren’t too hard that they’ll break your teeth by any means. The taste is a spicy chilli cheese – certainly that pepper he’s angrily wielding is a sign he means business. Pretty good stuff. For an instant noodle snack, I’ll give this one 4.25 out of 5.0 stars. #1278: Ottogi Ppushu Ppushu Noodle Snack Bulgogi Flavor

I did an appearance on a show called Cam Fu & Friends which was recorded at Microsoft on January 7th, 2014. Cam the host and I met because of instant noodles a while back. He did instant noodle reviews on The Noodle Freak for a while and then went on hiatus from it, telling folks to come check out my site, a real honor. So we actually met in person the first time the other day. He really was hoping I’d do a review on the show, and so I had to come up with something to review. Well, this one fit the bill; easily prepared during the taping! Further below, you can watch the video! Let’s check this one out.

Here’s the back of the package (click image to enlarge). Contains beef. To prepare, get a fist. Punch the package repeatedly. Open and remove sachet and sprinkle into the package. Shake. Eat it dry just like that!

Finished (click image to enlarge). The noodles are nice and crunchy and the seasoning is nice. Kind of sweet but it’s addictive stuff. 3.25 out of 5.0 stars. UPC bar code 645175560036.

#463: Ottogi Ppushu Ppushu Barbecue Flavor Instant Snack

Here’s yet another variety of Ottogi’s Ppushu Ppushu super powered smash snack. This one’s barbecue flavor – wonder how this one will be…

Here’s how I prepare this stuff – first off, the smashing…

You end up with a bowl of smashed noodles. Simple!

You also have a single packet of seasoning. This is for sprinkling on the noodles. I used to smash the noodles, put the seasoning in the bag and then shake it up, but my smashing of the noodles causes the bag to explode so I’ve decided to just do it manually.

So sprinkle, sprinkle and we’re done. I find doing it this way allows the stuff to coat more evenly. Anyways yeah not much mental strain here! It’s got an okay barbecue-like flavor and the noodles are crunchy. It’s not bad but I feel like a bad person eating this since I mean hey, this is extreme lazy food. I guess smashing the noodles is a way to exercise? Not sure. 3.0 out of 5.0 stars. Find it here.

#450 Ottogi Ppushu Ppushu Tteobokki (Hot Rice Cake) Flavor Instant Snack

So you’re hungry, lazy, and you’re 12 years old or in a college dorm. Well, I’m sure most of you know the rest – you smash up a pack of Top Ramen and sprinkle the seasoning pack in, shake it and you’ve got some kind of funky potato chip bizarro-land thing. Well, in Korea they took that concept a step further and have products that are marketed to be enjoyed that way!

As you can see, the little guy has a big mallet. He’s going to smash the package, open it, take out the flavoring packet and add it to the contents and shake.

Yep – a standard noodle seasoning packet! Who’dve thunk it?

So here’s what it looks like with the seasoning on it pre-shake. It kind of melds into the noodles so not going to bother with a shaken up photo. This one was pretty good – a little sweet but definitely has heat. I liked it – 3.25 out of 5.0 stars. Get it here.
