Was neat seeing these – I’d tried a previous variety from this brand a while back. They mailed it to me but no clue how they got my address. Tried them and enjoyed them thoroughly. So here’s a version with really thin noodles. Let’s give ’em a try!

A longtime follower of the site named Joe C. mentioned I should give this one a try – thanks! It was featured on a YouTube video by a channel called Way Of Ramen. I figured why not and was impressed. The video is at the bottom, but have a look. Maybe a little less mayo? I don’t often do a numbered review in this way, but I thought since apparently it’s very popular right now in Japan, why not?

You’ve probably seen me review Umai Crates from Japan Crate. On the back of the informational pamphlets, there’s an ad for Sugoi Mart. Sugoi Mart is an online store that sells individual items from Japan – among them, instant ramen. I asked my contact at Umai Crate if it was possible to get a sample box I could feature and introduce my readers to Sugoi Mart and get one variety in particular – the one that will be review #4000. They were good with the idea and here we are – it arrived yesterday! Let’s take a look at all in the box!

Today, we have one that was part of Japan Crate’s Umai Crate. So Japan Crate is a subscription service which has all sorts of different options for you. pretty neat stuff from Japan! There’s a coupon code for you too – just use THERAMENRATER to get a special discount at check out.

Got an email a week or two ago from the creator of a neat new healthy instant noodle product called Noodie. They wanted to send me some, and of course I’m always up to trying something new. I didn’t expect to find something so unique though and I’m really stoked to give them a try – the packaging and the product are just as fascinating as can be – let’s check it out!

It’s time to unbox a Zenpop.jp box – you get seven varieties of instant noodles to try! I would say that almost every time I’ve gotten one of these, I’ve never tried any of them before which is really awesome. Use coupon code THERAMENRATER for a groovy discount! Let’s check it out!

Another one found at the nearby 99 Ranch Market in Edmonds, Washington. That place really holds a dear place in m heart – that’s where my interest in the instant noodle really was rekindled back in 2010 when we moved about five minutes away. There should be a plaque. Anyways, let’s check out this spicy Chinese variety.

I must admit, it’s been an interesting stroll down memory lane retrying these about ten years after I had them previously. I remember back then I would walk every day to the Asian grocery store, pick a pack, come home, then review it. Much has changed since those reviews pre-1000, that’s for sure. This one I remember being quite nice. Let’s check it out!

So for a while, I’ve wanted to play with a bread machine. Well, we got one. We could have bought one brand new and had it in a day or two off of Amazon, but my friend Matt is very proud of the machine he got from a Goodwill Thrift store, and I decided that was the kind I wanted as well. We went to three one day, and then a fourth the second day. In this particular scenarion, fourth time was the charm and we found a Toastmaster 1.5lb loaf bread machine for $12.99 in Redmond, Washington – home of Microsoft and a particularly fancy Goodwill store.
Bread and instant noodles doesn’t sound like an apt combination, but here we are. Here is the recipe we tried and our results. I will say I’m happy with the results – a dense and moist loaf with a nice crust – and very good flavor. It’s exactly as advertised, folks – it’s a loaf of bread made with Indomie – and it tastes like Indomie.
I should mention that the recipe is adapted from the one that came with the bread machine for white bread. We used it as a guideline and made a couple of tweaks. If you’ve got a bread machine, give it a try!
We did a full video on what we did here, but the full recipe is below as well as detailed imagery of the result.
Ingredients 1 noodle block from Indomie Mi Goreng (cooked and drained) 4 sets of seasoning packets from 4 packs of Indomie - both the dual sachet of dry and triple sachet of wet Lots of shredded coriander (cilantro) 1 cup warm water 2 tbsp sugar 1 1/2 tsp salt 2 1/4 cups all-purpose sifted flour 2 1/4 tsp Active Dry Yeast

Mr. Lee’s Noodles started out in the UK. Priding themselves as a healthier option, they use freeze dried ingredients to give a better taste and freshness which is really quite a nice departure from the norm. Their varieties of noodle products are rice noodles, so they made the connection to offer congee varieties as well – let’s check them out!

Here’s one of the Panda Signature cups sent in by a reader from Montana. Some people have disliked Panda Signature completely; I would say I like some more than others. I figure everything’s worth a shot – and this one is no different. Let’s check it out.

Wow so this one looked neat but sure didn’t want me to know exactly what it was. Smelly powder? Smelly smelly juice? I mean, yeah – of course sign me up for that experience, but I want to know what it’s actually called.

Well, shoot… This is the last of the Mamee Ghost Pepper varieties I’ve got here. On one hand, I am breathing a sigh of relief – these have been spicy! But on the other, I do rather enjoy the whole concept of conquering a spicy noodle by eating the whole thing. Lontong is a kind of pressed rice tube/cake which in itself doesn’t have any flavor, but the sauce it comes with certainly does. I first encountered it with Mamee Chef’s Kari Lontong – a variety I thoroughly enjoy! Let’s give this one a try!

Why am I doing this to myself today… Okay so let me start out by saying it’s been one heck of a week. A couple of days ago was the 1 year anniversary of my Mom passing, so in her honor I thought I’d walk south on the local interurban trail the farthest ever. Well, 16.5 miles of walking and it’s 2 days later and I’m pretty much crippled from it – my dogs aren’t barking, they’re run over. So that’s a bummer of course – I like to pull 10 miles a day minimum and don’t think I’m even doing any today as well as yesterday… So sure – let’s try the challenge of something ultra spicy and see what happens. Here we go!

I got contacted a couple weeks ago about receiving some samples from Hong Kong. An interesting new beef noodle made in Taiwan for the Hong Kong market. Well, they arrived today and very excited to give them a try. Let’s check out what’s inside the package!

Well this is certainly a fancy box! This one hails from Taiwan and was sent by the company. It’s really neat to see all the super premium varieties coming out these days – this one sounds real good – let’s find out!

So this was something a little different. When looking for something neat for the review posted a couple of days ago. These are noodles made out of seafood! Yup – trippy huh? What’s more, there’s a processing factory right next to where I grew up with this outfit. Well, I’m down so let’s give it a whirl…

Here’s the second of the three Aces / Huy Fong Sriracha sauce varieties (after this there’s still the beef too). The original was very nice – let’s see how the chicken fares!

I’ve been a big fan of this flavor for quite a while – thought I’d tried every variety, too. Well, last time MyKuali sent samples, this one was in there as well. Sounds good to me – let’s crack it open!

Here’s another Doll variety I’ve not had in what seems like millennia. Spicy pork from Hong Kong? Sign me up! Let’s give it a try!

I’ve heard of crushed ginger, but smashed? I really like that – smash! Oh wait – my eyes deceive me. It’s actually mashed ginger. I immediately think of a big hot bowl of mashed potatoes. I wonder what it would be like – eating a bowl of piping hot mashed ginger with a little butter, salt, and pepper? That would be heavy duty. Anyways, here we have what looks to be a nice Taiwanese dry noodle. Let’s check it out!

The last one of these I tried was just excellent and I’m guessing this one will be good as well. The goose oil really add a lot of richness to the noodle which is nice. Let’s see how it goes! I’ll also be using a special sauce they included when they shipped these – Mullet Roe sauce. They said it’s the same style as caviar! Let’s check it out!

Well, would you look at that! An officially licensed Huy Fong Sriracha sauce variety. Sounds good to me – let’s see how it tastes! Very curious about this one Let’s hit it!

Here’s something I’m trying for the first time; goose oil. Never heard of it before now, but I’m guessing it’s something good where these noodles are concerned. Kung Fu, do you thing!

Every day, I get more views and comments on these from the unboxing I did. This one has drawn much ire with just jabs as ‘it smells like cat piss’ and more. Well, let’s give it a try.

Here’s one that was sent by the nice folks from Nissin Germany – thanks! Curious how this will be. One way to find out – let’s do it!

I only thought they had an original Indomie Mi Goreng cup but it turned out there’s a barbeque chicken one too. Quite a surprise – especially since I found it at a Middle Eastern market. Let’s give it a go!

Haven’t tried this one in many, many years. Haven’t seen it in a very long time either. It appears from the graphic on the front that this is a new recipe – let’s check it out!

Three Chinese varieties found at the same store in a row. I still feel like crap – it’s the third day of reviews but I’m doing four today.
