#4028: Acecook Mocchichi Chicken Salty Lemon Yakisoba - Japan

Here’s one that came in a Zenpop.jp box – use coupon code THERAMENRATER for a groovy discount!

Here’s what they have to say about this one – ‘This is a limited time only cup of instant yakisoba. Released on June 7th, another new product that we got our hands on for you.  You can enjoy the savory flavor of stir-fried vegetables and the umami of chicken that spreads slowly in your mouth, combined with the natural acidity of lemon juice from Setouchi (Japan inland sea) in a well-balanced manner. The Mochichi series became famous for its proprietary noodle manufacturing technology, delivering a unique texture.’

Another limited edition. All sorts of varieties come out in Japan and they seem to come out only for a short time – I get a lot of emails from people saying ‘hey where can I get X variety’ – when it’s from Japan, I generally have to tell them well, it’s no longer made. They come and go so fast! Let’s give this lemony yakisoba a try!

The noodle block.

Loose bits from the cup.

A wet sachet.

Finished (click to enlarge). Added baked chicken, sesame seed, and spring onion. Noodle was light and kind of fluffy – not exactly what I expected from a yakisoba, but okay. The flavor was indeed salty and indeed lemony. It worked – I think it would be good with some tilapia to be honest. Interesting and unique. 3.5 out of 5.0 stars.  JAN bar code 4901071222321.
