Pardoning The Turkey Until Tomorrow: The Ramen Rater’s Thanksgiving Breakfast Feast

I am in charge of throwing the turkey in the oven this year at noon. I figured breakfast shouldn’t have anything turkey like involved and pardon the turkey at least ramen-wise for a day. Then Black Friday will be a day that the turkeys will cower – planning on using turkey in some ramen meals for the next week or so – should be awesome! But for now, here’s something I decided to make for breakfast. By the way, here’s what I did for 2011’s Thanksgiving. ...see full post

#919: Maruchan 35% Less Sodium Beef Flavor Ramen Noodle Soup

Ah! The elusive 35% less sodium pack! A lot of you have asked about lower sodium instant noodles – here’s one. Each pack has two servings at 510mg sodium each instead of 790mg of sodium (look at the back of the package below for details). Found it recently at Walmart actually. Its funny how many Asian grocery stores I know of and hit up for new noodles to review from time to time, but I still find new items at the biggest grocery store around. I’m hoping to be doing a Meet The Manufacturer with Maruchan sometime soon too! That’s going to be great! Anyways, let’s see how this one is… ...see full post

#910: Paldo Namja Ramyun King Cup

Here’s a new one from Paldo not yet available in the USA – Namja cup! Namja translates to Man’s or Guy’s – gender-specific noodles – that’s something new! I think would like to know about the ladies’ ramyun and what that would be… Anyways, let’s give this new one from Paldo a gander. ...see full post

#821: Master Kong/康师傅 Potatoes & Stewed Beef Instant Noodles

This rather unassuming package of ramen came from Bo H. of China. I don’t know if this is exactly what this is called, but I hope it comes close to its name in taste. Potatoes aren’t something commonly found when it comes to instant noodles; there’s sweet potato noodles and potato noodles, but really nothing that involved potato flavor. ...see full post

#733: Meet The Manufacturer – Indomie Mi Instan Rasa Soto Betawi Khas Jakarta

Some of you might be saying ‘hey it’s Thursday; didn’t Meet The Manufacturer week start on Wednesday last week?’ Well, yeah but I skipped two days of reviewing so gotta make those up – only fair. So here we have Soto Betawi. Wikipedia has this to say about it: ...see full post

#715 Indomie Mi Goreng Rendang (Indonesian Import)

I couldn’t wait for Meet The Manufacturer: Indomie week to try this. It’s a nice day here in the low 70’s and this said ‘eat me,’ so I will. This was one of the ones sent to me by Susienta S. of Indofoods CBR in Jakarta, Indonesia! Thanks again – and let’s give this one a try! Hey wait a minute – maybe we should research this a little first. So. what I’ve heard is that Rendang is a spicy beef curry. Here’s what Wikipedia has to say about Rendang: ...see full post

Special Re-Review: Nongshim Shin Ramyun Black Premium Noodle Soup / EatYourKimchi.com Recipe Mash-Up

So this guy named Dave P. posted a YouTube video on the Ramen Rater Facebook page showing some people in Korea making a bowl of Shin Ramyun a little different that I’ve made it in the past. I thought I’d try to get the ingredients and give it a try. Here’s the video: ...see full post
