A-Sha Sends More Gourmet Beef & Tendon Noodle From Taiwan!

It’s been a really interesting week for me! Foremost, I hit my 4000th review. Then, while I sort of expected the Top Ten Taiwan list to make the news over there, what happened is that the Taiwanese media has gone crazy with my annual global top ten list – which came out in April! Well, two Taiwanese varieties made that list and this is one of them – ultra premium tasty stuff! Let’s check it out! ...see full post

#3999: Thai Town Tom Yum Thai Flavor Noodles - Taiwan

When I saw this variety at our local 99 Ranch Market, I definitely wanted to try it out and so I contacted the manufacturer. I was a little confused, but a lot enthused! Thai food from Taiwan? But I remembered I did have some really great Thai food while I was in Taiwan in 2017. Thai Town is a Thai restaurant in Taiwan and looks like they have some very good varieties of food to try. They, like many other restaurants, have branched out to create varieties you can make at home. This one sounds right up my alley. Thanks to the folks at Thai Town for sending some packets over! Let’s give this one a try on the cusp of my 4,000th reviews. ...see full post

#3959: Mom’s Dry Noodle Red-Braised Beef Noodle Soup – Taiwan

Mom's Dry Noodle Red-Braised Beef Noodle Soup - Taiwan

The last boxed variety I tried from Mom’s Dry Noodle was an absolute knockout. It was by far the finest chicken instant I’ve had bar none in all the years of my reviewing. Now, we’ve got a beed variety and I’ve very curious as to how this is going to be. You’re not going to find this one in the states – maybe eBay or eBay.ca might work. This one contains beef and I’m guessing a good amount of it! Alright – let’s get down to giving this a try. ...see full post

#3957: Kung Fu Noodles Premium Black Sesame Oil With Smashed Ginger - Taiwan

I’ve heard of crushed ginger, but smashed? I really like that – smash! Oh wait – my eyes deceive me. It’s actually mashed ginger. I immediately think of a big hot bowl of mashed potatoes. I wonder what it would be like – eating a bowl of piping hot mashed ginger with a little butter, salt, and pepper? That would be heavy duty. Anyways, here we have what looks to be a nice Taiwanese dry noodle. Let’s check it out! ...see full post

The last one of these I tried was just excellent and I’m guessing this one will be good as well. The goose oil really add a lot of richness to the noodle which is nice. Let’s see how it goes! I’ll also be using a special sauce they included when they shipped these – Mullet Roe sauce. They said it’s the same style as caviar! Let’s check it out! ...see full post

Mom’s Dry Noodle Sends Mind Blowing Spicy Crackers!

Mom's Dry Noodle Sends Mind Blowing Spicy Crackers!

I regularly receive samples of new noodles from the folks over at Mom’s Dry Noodle in Taiwan. I got to try these a while back as part of a shipment of noodles. I thought I’d give them a try and I was just floored. These things are good! The cracker is light almost like pastry, with baked on cheese, a little tasty onion flavor, and a bit of Sichuan pepper which is a gentle nudge – unless you eat a few and then builds to a little shove! These things are awesome – check ’em out and get some! ...see full post

I got a phonecall the other day from a guy in Georgia. He said a family member in Taiwan had come up with a new noodle variety and that they were interested in me trying it.
