#3553: Mom’s Dry Noodle Sichuan Spicy Duck Blood Bean Vermicelli – Taiwan

#3553: Mom's Dry Noodle Sichuan Spicy Duck Blood Bean Vermicelli - Taiwan

Here’s another fancy one from Mom’s Dry Noodle! Now, many of you probably haven’t tried anything with blood in it. Let me reassure you that I have and there are some really great foods that do contain it from many places. Malaysian White Curry often contains coagulated duck blood, while in Taiwan I’ve tried pork blood rice cake which was absolutely wonderful stuff. I know it’s popular in a Vietnamese soup as well.

Anyways, let’s cook it up and I’ll give you my thoughts on this new premium variety.

Detail of the side panels (click to enlarge). Contains duck blood. To prepare, add large soup sachet to a pot and add 150ml. Bring to a boil. Add in vermicelli and cook 7 minutes. Finally, stir and enjoy!

The bean vermicelli.

The soup – basically like a big flexible can.

Finished (click to enlarge). Added beef sauteed with soy sauce, spring onion, and egg. The bean vermicelli was quite nice after cooking for 7 minutes. It took on the color of the deep shaded broth. Broth had a spicy hit of Sichuan pepper and just the richest duck taste ever. Duck blood cake was super rich – this was a very decadent bowl of noodles that was just amazing all around. 5.0 out of 5.0 stars.  EAN bar code 4717011158496.
