#3453: Seven & i Premium Curry Ramen – Japan

#3453: Seven & i Premium Curry Ramen - Japan

Here’s another one kindly sent by Alexander from Hong Kong – dude thanks! So these are cool – I really like convenience store tie-in ramen. This one is a little bit of a mystery; usually they’ll be by Nissin or another brand and it’s easy to tell. This one, not so much. But that’s mainly for identification purposes. This is definitely 7-Eleven either way, whomever is private labeling it for them. Let’s give it a try! ...see full post

#3451: Nongshim Shin Light Air Dried Noodle Soup – South Korea

#3451: Nongshim Shin Light Air Dried Noodle Soup - South Korea

It’s been quite a while since a new Shin variety came out I think. On the edge of the package it mentions it being ‘Shin Black Class’ but I mean look at the packaging. Clearly, this is Shin White – am I wrong?I’m guessing this is going to be quite different – fried vs non fried noodles are like night and day, and I expect I’m going to like this one to be honest. Let’s find out! ...see full post

#3512: Red Chef Green Tom Yum Soup Noodles [New Formulation Dec-19] - Malaysia:

This is always something that really humbles me. I review instant noodles, and getting new varieties is always a good thing, albeit difficult oft times. Well, this is a definitely new variety. The former version has been on my The Ramen Rater’s Top Ten Instant Noodles Of All Time list – now I’m curious… Isn’t that good enough? Apparently not! Let’s see what’s different! ...see full post

#3427: Samyang Foods Buldak Bokkeummyun Light – South Korea

#3427: Samyang Foods Buldak Bokkeummyun Light - South Korea

Here we have the latest in the long line of Buldak varieties from Samyang Foods. This is Buldak Light – so let me explain. This one has only 375 calories. The noodles are not fried, so all that oil used in frying isn’t present. But not only is it lighter on calories, it’s lighter on heat. It’s 40% less spicy than original Buldak Bokkeummyun clocking in at 2,600SHU compared to the original’s 4,400SHU. ...see full post

#3413: Shin Horng Hon’s Dry Noodles Traditional Sichuan Chilli Flavor – Taiwan

#3413: Shin Horng Hon's Dry Noodles Traditional Sichuan Chilli Flavor - Taiwan

I’ve been admiring the packaging on these noodle for quite a while now and thought today must be the day to give them a try. I’ve sampled a very wide array of dry noodle varieties from the beautiful island that is Taiwan. However, none whose name kind of sound like my own! I’m in the mood for something spicy today – a Friday for me. I should mention that this is the second variety from Shin Horng I’ll be trying – the first ended up on the top ten Taiwanese list, 2020 edition. Let’s give them a try! ...see full post

#3404: Nongshim Big Gomtang Instant Noodle Soup Mix – South Korea

#3404: Nongshim Big Gomtang Instant Noodle Soup Mix - South Korea

I’ve honestl been hoping to find this one for a long time – and I finally did up in Richmond, BC at the HMart in Aberdeen Centre. I was getting the stuff to do the Shin Ramen Prison Burrito! Anyways, Gomtang is a horse of a different color in the realm of Korean instant noodle soups. It’s never spicy (although a spicy Gomtang sounds kind of neat). It’s a kind of creamy beef soup – stick to your ribsy and comforty. Good stuff! Let’s give Nongshim’s offering a try! ...see full post

#3318: INA Pan Mee Goreng Dried Chilli Shrimp Flavour - Malaysia

My posts for the most part come out about 100 days since I wrote them. A lot happens in those 100 days, personally and globally. About 60 days ago I found out I’d lost 65 pounds when I visited the doctor – 2 days ago I found out I’ve lost 30 more. Last night was the second night of the Democrat primary debates. Kamala Harris did incredibly well and we now have a new race. When this posting, I’m sure a few candidates have dropped off and declared their support for others. I like politics – it’s fun and matters. ...see full post

#3392: Wu-Mu Mandashi Mala Spicy Noodle – Taiwan

#3392: Wu-Mu Mandashi Mala Spicy Noodle - Taiwan

Today, something I found at the local 99 Ranch Market from Taiwan. If you watch the episode of Instant Noodle Recipe Time at the bottom, you can watch me cook it up, as well as hear my thoughts on an upcoming ban on flavors of vape in Washington State with a lovely message for the Governor, Jay Inslee! This bears nothing ill towards Wu-Mu of course, so apologies for this one being the review that got the cursing, but it was something I had to do. Wu-Mu’s stuff is top-notch! Let’s check it out! ...see full post

#3389: Nissin Menshokunin Tantanmen – Japan

Nissin Menshokunin Tantanmen - Japan

Here’s one that was in a box from Zenpop. Their monthly boxes feature a slew of varieties from Japan – use coupon code RAMENRATER for a discount! Here’s what they have to say about this one – “Why not bring this ramen for your lunch at work? Whole wheat flour is added to the non-fried noodle so it is a healthier but delicious choice! The authentic noodles and appetizing savory soup match very well. Plus we really like the package of this cup too. It has Japanese modern and beautiful designs so that’s another reason for you to bring it to work.” ...see full post

#3372: Nissin Cup Noodles Stir Fry Teriyaki Beef Flavor – United States

#3372: Nissin Cup Noodles Stir Fry Teriyaki Beef Flavor - United States

Continuing the reviews of this new range from Nissin USA, we have the Teriyaki Beef variety of the Stir Fry range. Sounds good to me; Nissin’s take on teriyaki beef has been enjoyable in the past. I saw a comment a day or two ago from someone hoping that they’d be good (specifically this one). So, I figured if someone wants to get my take on it, I’ll expedite it, and here we are. Let’s give ‘er a go! ...see full post

#3361: Liang Cheng Mei Sao Zi Mian – China

#3311: Liang Cheng Mei Sao Zi Mian - China

Okay so my lovely wife Kit saw this one up at FoodyWorld in Richmond BC while we were up there. She previously saw the Liang Cheng Mei Biang Biang up there too, and that made the 2019 Top Ten list. She’s got a good track record! Being a person with low vision and light sensitivity, I depend on her a lot when we go somewhere – she will ask me ‘have you seen/ tried this one?’ She doesn’t do it every place we go, but when she does, 99% of the time it’s something I’ve not seen or tried before – she’s got noodle ESP! Let’s check this one out! ...see full post

#3352: A-Sha Rainbow Noodles - Taiwan

Check this out! Multi-colored noodles! This is an interesting set. What is coloring these? Well, you have Matcha noodle (green) with original sauce, Red Yeast Noodle (red) with onion sauce, Purple Yam Noodle (purple with sesame paste sauce, Danzai Noodle (yellow) with spicy BBQ sauce, and finally Blue-Green Algae Noodle (blue-green) with chili sauce. Pretty neat! I want to try making a bowl of multi-colored noodles I think. This could be interesting! Let’s check it out! ...see full post
