Today we have a Zenpop.JP variety – so what’s Zenpop? They’re a subscription service for all things Japanese! Definitely, check them out. By the way, use coupon code RAMENRATER to get $2 off! Here’s what they had to say about this one – ‘Mellow tonkotsu soup meets with piquant mentaiko (spicy cod roe)! The dish uses Kanefuku’s mntaiko, one of the main mentaiko manufacturers in Fukuoka. The smell of sesame oil and roasted sesame will definitely make your stomach anticipate this bowl.’ ...see full post

#3147: Samyang Foods Hek Buldak Bokkeummyun Mini – South Korea

#3240: Samyang Foods Hek Buldak Bokkeummyun Mini - South Korea

This is a new one – a smaller Buldak Bokkeummyun! However it packs a big punch. This one’s clocking in at 12,000SHU, the highest heat level to date in the range. This is to celebrate the 7th anniversary of Buldak Bokkeummyun – happy birthday! What’s cool too is that the character Hochi’s birthday is the same as my wife’s! I thought hey – I should put this out on her birthday! Let’s give it a try. ...see full post

#3145: Maison De Coree x Samyang Foods Ramen Gout Poulet Feu – France

#3145: Maison De Coree x Samyang Foods Ramen Gout Poulet Feu - France

I was looking on Facebook and a friend from Samyang Foods posted something about developing a range specifically for France. Having never reviewed anything for the French marketplace, I thought this would be really great to try. Well, they arrived recently and so today we start with this interesting variety. What is it? Well, most likely it’s the standard buldak bokkeummyun fire noodle in different clothes. But we’ll find out. Let’s have a look! ...see full post

#3143: Sau Tao Tom Yum Kung Flavour Rice Vermicelli – Hong Kong

#3143: Sau Tao Tom Yum Kung Flavour Rice Vermicelli - Hong Kong

Found this up in Canada at Osaka Supermarket at Yaohan Centre in Richmond, BC. I must admit that the first time I tried one of Sau Tao’s Tom Yum Kung varieties I was kind of surprised. Tom Yum from Hong Kong? That’s a way for Thailand! But one of my favorites lately has been their straight noodle variety. This one’s a rice vermicelli – sounds interesting. Let’s check it out! ...see full post

#3139: A-Sha Guanmiao Noodle Spicy Fennel – Taiwan

#3139: A-Sha Guanmiao Noodle Spicy Fennel - Taiwan

This is the second of two A-Sha varieties I got a little while back. I’ve been cranking out three reviews a day lately and chugging through a lot of new stuff. Now that a lot of the varieties are churned through, I can focus on some things in the hamper. See, my hampers are very full. When I get new stuff, they go into the area next to the kitchen. Instead of tripping over boxes, I try to run through them quickly! So here we have a wide noodle from Taiwan. Let’s get started. ...see full post

#3125: Micoem Cung Dinh Kool Mi Tron Trung Muoi (Salted Egg Flavor) – Vitenam

#3125: Micoem Cung Dinh Kool Mi Tron Trung Muoi (Salted Egg Flavor) - Vitenam

Here’s one I found up at the Osaka market at Yaohan Centre in Richmond BC, Canada. I found this a few weeks before Christmas and usually like to peruse the interesting specials this store has around that time. They had some really interesting things like sake flavored Kit Kats and other things. Kind of expensive. But I did find this, and it wasn’t too pricy. Let’s hit it! ...see full post

#3122: Mamee Shinsegae Daebak Ghost Pepper Spicy Chicken – Malaysia

#3122: Mamee Shinsegae Daebak Ghost Pepper Spicy Chicken - Malaysia

So yesterday was my birthday, and one of the best I’ve had yet. This one was a little different; usually I’m all about going out somewhere to eat or partying up. I had a couple goals for my birthday. One was to do a mukbang of this one and publish it yesterday – which I was able to do. ...see full post

#3117: A-Sha Gourmet Sesame Paste Noodle – Taiwan

#3117: A-Sha Gourmet Sesame Paste Noodle - Taiwan-sha

This is the last of the quartet of varieties from A-Sha that they sent to me a little while back. With this, I think I’ve cleared out all the odds and ends of noodle varieties that have been sitting in the kitchen – boo yah! Next will be the boxes next to counter in the kitchen lol – should be able to whittle those down quite a bit this week as well. ...see full post

#3107: Samyang Foods Bowl Noodle Soup Chicken Flavor – South Korea

#3107: Samyang Foods Bowl Noodle Soup Chicken Flavor - South Korea

This one might be a bit of a surprise to you – insofar that I haven’t reviewed it, that is. Well, two other brand have these ‘bowl noodle’ style products from South Korea as well. This is Samyang’s entry into the fray of this form factor and style. Don’t get me wrong – one that’s been popular for years is their Yukgaejang bowls which look almost identical – except the name. They recently sent a bunch of these in different flavors – let’s give chicken a try! ...see full post

#3095: Daikoku Tonkotsu Ramen - Japan

Here’s one from Japan Ramen Box – a subscription service out of Japan. Here’s what they have to say about this Daikoku variety – ‘If you’re a fan of pork bone soup and love the rich, delicious
taste of pork, then Daikokuken Tonkotsu Ramen is a perfect meal for you! It’s a gem of a pig bone soup, and is finished with the rich taste of pork extract. The noodles are mediumfine,
slightly transparent, and the perfect additions to an already flavorful broth. If you’re in the mood, you can even add your favorite ramen soup ingredients to enhance the
experience! Go wild!’ ...see full post

#3082: Mivina Banana Flavor Instant Noodles – Ukraine

#3082: Mivina Banana Flavor Instant Noodles - Ukraine

A big thank you to Artur, a friend of The Ramen Rater! This is the very first dessert-style instant noodle I’ve ever tried. Ever! Not only that, It’s fromthe Ukraine! I’ve seen dessert yakisoba before in chocolate as well as strawberry shortcake flavor, and I expected those would be what I would eventually get to try. But this was way out of nowhere. Thank you again! Let’s give it a try! It’s banana time! ...see full post

#3076: Rooster Chili Chicken Flavour Noodle Soup – Canada

#3076: Rooster Chili Chicken Flavour Noodle Soup - Canada

Here’s one of the many varieties I still have from Rooster, a range made in China for Canada’s Loblaw’s company. Loblaw’s owns The Real Canadian SuperStore, and that’s where I found these. Just think of Walmart, but slightly different and Canadian owned – not American. Let’s check this one out – the others in this range have been surprisingly good despite the very plain look to them. ...see full post

#3073: Trader Joe’s Miso Ramen Soup – United States

#3073: Trader Joe's Miso Ramen Soup - United States

A lot of people enjoy visiting Trader Joe’s and trying their products. Actually, there aren’t many products if any that I think are actually ‘their’ products – they get companies who make a good product to do a ‘private label,’ often the same product or some with a couple tweaks and then packaged with Trader Joe’s graphics. I believe this one to be actually a cup of Mike’s Mighty Good Craft Ramen. Anyways, let’s check this new cup out! ...see full post

#3068: Sapporo Ichiban Japanese Style Noodles Soy Sauce Flavor – United States

#3068: Sapporo Ichiban Japanese Style Noodles Soy Sauce Flavor - United States

This is interesting in a couple ways. First off, this variety has been called Original in both the cup and pack versions up til not – in the bowl, however, it’s getting the stamp of Soy Sauce. Not only that, I did see that they also have the Shio version available – not sure about the Miso but I do think I may have seen that. Let’s crack into this one and give it a try! ...see full post

#3056: Nissin Cup Noodles Soup’D Up Savory Shrimp Flavor – United States

#3056: Nissin Cup Noodles Soup'D Up Savory Shrimp Flavor - United States

Another one sent by way by Robert over at www.dadbert.com – thanks again, man! So like their Cup Noodles Very Veggie range,Nissin USA has gone with a cup that instead of a large amount of vegetables has gone with more meat and seafood. To be honest, I like this new direction Nissin is moving towards. However, I think marrying the two concepts – why not lots of meat and lots of vegetables? Call it something like Cup Noodles Gold Label or Cup Noodles Supreme or Cup Noodles Real Loaded or Cup Noodles Fully Loaded… I dunno – just seems like it would be pretty rad. Let’s check this one out! ...see full post
