Over 5,000 Instant Ramen Noodle Reviews Since 2002

Another one that I’ve not samples in many, many years – October of 2010. Curious how it’ll be – I generally remember liking all of these Doll brand ones so we shall see.

Haven’t had this variety in years and it looks to be a little different. There’s a fellow on YouTube named FirstNameLastName that’s been following my channel for quite a while, offering insightful comment and input on my episodes of Instant Noodle Recipe Time. He mentioned what I figure was this one, so seemed right to me to give it a go. Let’s check it out!

This was a nice score! Found it at a local market called Imran’s Market over in Lynnwood, WA – actually it may have been Everett. Either way, this place has some neat varieties. Let’s see how fiery this one is!

I met the folks at Myojo USA a while back and got the chance to try their wonderful products. I saw there was some new packaging for a couple varieties I’d not tried on Instagram and so reached out. They sent samples of those as well as a few other varieties I’ve not tried before – let’s check them out and thank you very much!

It’s tonkotsu time! The other varieties by this company have been good , so hoping this one follows suit. Let’s check it out!

Time for some more Doll noodles! I reviewed these very early in my reviewing career and they definitely need another look. Since it’s been so many years, this one gets a fresh look. Let’s check it out!

I regularly receive samples of new noodles from the folks over at Mom’s Dry Noodle in Taiwan. I got to try these a while back as part of a shipment of noodles. I thought I’d give them a try and I was just floored. These things are good! The cracker is light almost like pastry, with baked on cheese, a little tasty onion flavor, and a bit of Sichuan pepper which is a gentle nudge – unless you eat a few and then builds to a little shove! These things are awesome – check ’em out and get some!

My buddy The Fat Hipster is a fellow YouTube Creator and you should check out his channel. He does taste tests and reviews of a lot of different thing – spicy noodles, chips, drinks – it’s pretty wide open and if it’s new, he’s on it. He saw that I was low on varieties to review and kindly decided to help out by sending some varieties – let’s check them out and a big thanks to you , sir!

Detail of the packaging (click to enlarge). Looks to be meat free, but check for yourself. To prepare, boil the noodles in 500ml of water or 3 minutes. Add in sachet contents. Finally, stir and enjoy!

A recent local find. Unfortunately, the website mentioned on the box is defunct. Luckily, I kind of figured out the way to cook this one up from seeing varieties that did come with soup on YouTube when I looked up Lanzhou. Let’s check this one out.

Well this was a little unexpected – found this at the Uwajimaya in Renton, WA. Yeah, it’s not instant noodles, but I figure it was definitely unique and should be checked out, so let’s give it a try.

Recently, I was lucky to try the new Aces Huy Fong Sriracha Ramen Noodle Soup range with their initial 3 varieties. But now, two more have rolled out! Let’s take a look at the new flavors from the range!

I was recently in touch with a company called Nishiyama Seimen of Sapporo, Japan. They make a wide variety of fresh ramen and since I don’t get a lot of samples from Japan directly from companies, I thought I’d see if they wanted to do a Meet The Manufacturer review series – and they did! Check out what they sent and learn a little about the company!

Found this one locally last weekend. An Indonesian mukbang contender! Let’s check it out!

It’s ben years since I’ve tried this – back in August of 2015 to be exact. I rarely see it around so I thought perhaps it was worth another try. Here’s a little from Wikipedia –

Here’s yet another one of these Shi Zu Ren ‘flower pots.’ This one’s pretty snazzy – silver shiny cup with Mr. Demon and flying pieces of vegetable. Let’s dig in!

Oh dood – it’s the last one! I have to be honest – these have been really quite good. A nice change. I applaud these folks – they’ve got a really good range – well, so far. Curious what this one will bring, however it sounds good. Let’s find out if it is…

Found this one at Evergreen Asian Market up in Everett, Washington. I don’t often make my way that far north for instant noodles but I did find one or two things there (including Chocolatey Tree Stumps). This one is made in the Russian Federation for the US market – even says on the label which I find interesting. Anyways, let’s check this one out!

I first found Baixiang products up in Richmond, BC a number of years ago. Good stuff – always like to try new ones they make. A reader mentioned this one – I’d seen it before, and I’d thought I’d bought the chicken one and the pork one, but instead I’d gotten two pork ones. Well, when asked if I’d tried it I decided to grab the chicken one. Only one pack this time though. Let’s check it out!

Here’s another one I got at Family Asian Market on Aurora. A gift box type of thing – maybe from Lunar New Year? Not sure, but looks interesting. I’m in the mood for interesting – let’s check it out!

Well look at this! I’ve seen something like this before…

I did a post way back in April of 2013, extolling the virtues of Chapaguri! No clue where I’d heard of it back then – maybe from Nongshim, IDK. I’d long forgotten about it and then I saw this and was like ‘hey – that’s the logo I made!’ It’s a pretty easy conclusion to do something like this from a design perspective and I think it looks nice. If they got the idea from me, I’m honored, but I’m guessing they had the idea of it when it was a popular item back then. Well, let’s see how it tastes!

I’ll admit, I tried one of these yesterday and it was freaking wonderful stuff, so I thought I’d try this one today. Should have a nice hit of Sichuan peppercorn. Let’s give it a go!

I found this at the Asian Family Market on Aurora, north of Seattle. It was my first venture in a car in two months!!! Let me explain.

Thanks again to the guy in Montana for sending this a little while back. These days, the unboxing video’s comments have provided speculation, xenophobic diatribes, and some weird entertainment. Turns out these are the ramen at Walmart now and Walmart customers are seriously unhappy about it – it’s pretty hardcore if you ask me. Fascinating and entertaining nonetheless. Some of these varieties I’ve liked, some not. I actually saw them this weekend at a Walmart – they had these cups at 37 cents for a single, $1.78 for a six pack. That’s an extremely low price point for six meals. Let’s check this one out.

Here’s one that the folks from Chef Woo sent over – thanks! So these cups have 20g or protein. What’s more is this is a Vegan friendly cup. Shall we?

For almost 20 years, The Ramen Rater (www.theramenrater.com) has been reviewing instant noodles from around the globe. Unfortunately, that has come to an abrupt standstill. I’ve run out of instant noodles to review. Local stores have nothing new for me. So today, I’m asking if some of you would be kind enough to send me some varieties you may have locally that I’ve not reviewed. I will add your name to reviews (I can leave it anonymous, should you choose).

Slowly but surely getting through the cavalcade of German Cup Noodles varieties I’ve got on hand. These are made over in Hungary for the German wing of Nissin. Let’s check it out!

I think the last time I had this is was called Five Flavors Beef or Five Spice Beef – that was a long time ago let me look it up…
