Another Loblaw’s variety found at the Canadian SuperStore. I like shrimp. Sounds interesting and lacking a name which I enjoy. My wife’s favorite color is yellow. Let us begin.

There is an alternate method on this one which I think sounds interesting so that’s what we’re going to do today – cook noodles in 500ml boiling water for 3 minutes. Drain. Add a pat of butter, sachet contents and stir. Add seafood and vegetables. Enjoy!

So here’s what the folks at Japan Crate had to say about this variety -“Savor a bowl of soba this winter with bits of dried shrimp! Hot soba like this one is usually served as a noodle soup in a bowl of hot tsuyu (dashi soup stock and a mixture of soy sauce, mirin and sugar) as a sou p base. It’s a thinner version than the dipping sauce used for cold soba. For a busy day, take this one to go for a quick lunch at work.”

Another one sent by way by Robert over at www.dadbert.com – thanks again, man! So like their Cup Noodles Very Veggie range,Nissin USA has gone with a cup that instead of a large amount of vegetables has gone with more meat and seafood. To be honest, I like this new direction Nissin is moving towards. However, I think marrying the two concepts – why not lots of meat and lots of vegetables? Call it something like Cup Noodles Gold Label or Cup Noodles Supreme or Cup Noodles Real Loaded or Cup Noodles Fully Loaded… I dunno – just seems like it would be pretty rad. Let’s check this one out!

They came out nicely – good chew and gauge. The broth is a luxuriant green curry flavor with a nice crescendo and little peaks of spiciness. Perfect there. The included bits of greenery and augmented with rings of chilli pepper which are pleasing to the eye as well as the palate. 5.0 out of 5.0 stars. EAN bar code 8885014951010.

#2839: Yum Yum Authentic Thai Style Instant Noodles Tom Yum Shrimp Creamy Flavour

#2839: Yum Yum Authentic Thai Style Instant Noodles Tom Yum Shrimp Creamy Flavour

Oh man tom yum. I really like tom yum as lot – especially the creamy stuff. Here’s a little about it from Wikipedia –

Tom yum or tom yam (UK: /ˌtɒm ˈjæm/ or /ˌtɒm ˈjʌm/US: /ˌtɑːm ˈjɑːm/;[2] Thaiต้มยำRTGStom yampronounced [tôm jām] (About this sound listen)) is a type of hot and sour Thai soup,[2] usually cooked with shrimp (prawn).[3] Tom yum has its origin in Thailand. In recent years,[when?] tom yam has been popularised around the world.

The words “tom yam” are derived from two Thai words. Tom refers to the boiling process, while yam refers to a Thai spicy and sour salad. Indeed, tom yum is characterised by its distinct hot and sour flavours, with fragrant spices and herbs generously used in the broth. The basic broth is made of stock and fresh ingredients such as lemongrasskaffir lime leaves, galangallime juice, fish sauce, and crushed chili peppers.

Commercial tom yum paste is made by crushing all the herb ingredients and stir frying in oil. Seasoning and other preservative ingredients are then added. The paste is bottled or packaged and sold around the world. Tom yum flavored with the paste may have different characteristics from that made with fresh herb ingredients. The soup often includes meats such as chicken, beef, pork, or shrimp.

Yeah this sounds good today – let’s check it out!

‘Hokkaido has lots of regional ramen varieties in its vast land, including shrimp miso ramen. The flavor of shrimp is strong but mingles well with the taste of miso. If you’re a shrimp person, you’ll be slurping down the soup after all the noodles are gone! This one is perfect for winter.’

Meet The Manufacturer: Re-Review: Sapporo Ichiban Japanese Style Noodles & Shrimp Flavored Soup

Today, we head to the second half of this series with the shrimp pack version. Cups and packs, packs and cups. As you may remember, I was pretty impressed by the cup version. I’ve tasted shrimp flavor instant noodles in a few different ways. Sometimes, it’s kind of like as buttery broth which doesn’t taste like shrimp, but one that shrimp may go well in. – kind of the way that oyster sauce doesn’t taste like oysters. The cup version with this brand has a nice sweetness that you find in shrimp. Let’s see how it translates to the pack version.

Sapporo Ichiban offers four standard pillow pack style noodles, four special varieties, and four cup varieties. It makes it easy to do a different one every day during this Meet The Manufacturer series. I have, however, reviewed them all before, but it was a very long, long time ago. I usually don’t like to do re-reviews, but I think in this case I’m very happy to make an exception. I’ve been wanting to do a Meet The Manufacturer with Sanyo Foods America for years and getting the chance to has been a lot of fun!

Today, we’ve got one of the cups – this one has a shrimp flavor to it. Let’s look inside and see what it’s all about.
