I thought it would be cool since I got a set of those Egglettes things to make soft boiled eggs and I also have chashu and all my veg to make something from the cold case. I’ve been eyeballing these Myojo refrigerated varieties for quite some time now and thought hey – let’s get one and cook it up! So, that’s what I’m doing and here we go!

Alrighty so here’s another one of the Myojo varieties I have from Singapore. These are new formulations of longstanding popular varieties. Indeed, they invoke the term ‘yummy’ on this packaging and I will admit that although I rarely use it, it’s an important term. Let’s see if it’s fitting to include it in this one.

This one took a lot of digging on Google and trying various translations and I think I have the name right. I think this may have something to do with egg drop soup? I really am unsure; the ones I see that sound like this one is only cooked 3 minutes and mention the calories on them. I’m completely lost. So I pushed out an ask on The Ramen Rater facebook page so we will see what that brings. In the meantime, let’s continue!

Here’s one I got up in Canada in 2017. It’s pretty awesome – a quick drive and we’re in another country! Some might say ‘that’s Canada – it’s not so different.’ Well, it is. It’s full of nice people and interesting things. I like it.
The package says ‘yummy just got yummier.’ I can’t argue with that; I like yummy and more yummy is a paramount concern. Indeed, the proliferation of yummy is something that should be on everyone’s agenda. I mean, who doesn’t like yummy; the term passing through the mouth evokes a feeling of childhood giddiness and reckless abandon for anything else that’s a concern of the day. It’s a pure admission of surrender to the palate.

So today is the first review I’ve done in a month! This was the first time since 2010 that I thought I’d take a little time off of reviewing. The main reason being that I’m so far ahead of myself – 110 reviews ahead in fact. I must say it’s nice to have such a buffer. Anyways, here we have a Myojo Udon bowl – honestly I can’t remember where it came from – someone either sent it (thank you) or I got it at the store. Myojo Udon sounds pretty good. Here’s one that comes by way of a reader named Colin from Massachusetts – thanks again! So I’ve reviewed a slew of these packets of udon in the past. It’s been a while though – don’t know that I’ve ever seen this hot and sour either. Udon is a lot different when it comes to noodles than your standard instant – here’s a little from Wikipedia –
Here’s another one I found in Taiwan on my trip in November of 2016. Yakisoba is one of my favorites – and my wife Kit likes it quite a bit as well. As I’ve said before, I’m usually quite a few reviews ahead as normally I do two reviews a day but only post one. Right now It’s February 20th, 2017 and our new President Trump has only been in office for a month. I have to assure my friends from all over the world that indeed not all of us are rude and boorish as he is and respect other people’s rights. That being said, let’s talk more about this one!

Myojo has three new Mee Goreng varieties. I’m unsure if there’s a difference between this one and their regular one I reviewed in the past other than the packaging, but I guess we’ll see! It’s a good day for some mee goreng I think – let’s crack it open and have a look!

Today, we come to the end of this Meet The Manufacturer with Myojo of Singapore. Lots of great new flavors to try in this one! Todaym we end things off with Mee Poh Dry. I did some scrouing of the Internet and found that Mee Poh often is served with fish ball, so I’m pleased at that since I love using fish ball – and the ones I have in my freezer are indeed from Singapore. Let’s dig in!

I did a bit of research on Wikipedia about char mee. It was a little vague but I am hoping what I gleaned was right. So, this is like Hokkien mee without broth. Let’s see what this is all about.
I tried the spicy mushroom pack version a few days ago and really liked it – I usually am not a fan of mushrooms, but the flavor in that one was really quite enjoyable. Today it’s the bowl version – how will it fare? Let’s have a look!
This is only the second mee goreng I’ve tried from Singapore. I would’ve thought that more varieties would have crossed my desk by now! But maybe there aren’t lots of them? Unsure. But one thing I know is that mee goreng usually is quite a nice treat to enjoy – no broth, spicy, a little sweet… Let’s crack this pack open and see what makes it tick!
Lobster instant noodle have always kind of solidified my thoughts on the instant noodle’s gourmetness. Here in the United States, lobster is a very expensive item on the menu, and seeing it in an instant noodle truly speaks to the versatility of instant nooldes to convey exotic and tasty flavors of many foods. It’s been a long time since I’ve had any chicken abalone flavored instant noodles – looks like 400-450 reviews ago. I’ll be honest – I’ve never had real abalone before, so I can’t say as to an instant’s authenticity to abalone flavor, although I can definitely say whether I like it or not. It’s only logical that since Singapore is only a stone’s throw from Thailand that Thai flavors would be popular there. Tom yam soup is a tasty melange of lemongrass, spiciness and shrimp all coalescing into a harmonious symphony of wonder and amazement. I’m curious how this tom yam from Singapore differs from varieties from Malaysia just to the north and Thailand north of there. Let’s take a look!
This is what looks to be Myojo’s pack version of their chicken flavor bowl. I’m having a little trouble withe the tern ‘tanmen.’ I see it is a Japanese ramen style, but I’m thinking in this usage, it’s just meaning noodle soup. Let’s have a look.

It’s no secret that I’m a fan of the spicy stuff. Also it should be known though that I’m not usually a big fan of mushrooms. I will try anything and everything I can get my hands on though – and in the last year or so, I’ve been finding mushrooms a bit more to my liking. My fingers are crossed for this one!
