Category: * Stars 3.1 – 4.0
#3376: Rooster Chili Seafood Flavour Noodle Soup – Canada
The Real Canadian Superstore up in Richmond, BC had tons of these in cups, bowls and packs. Like mountains of them. So far, I’ve found the varieties I’ve tried to be quite enjoyable. Let’s give this one a try!
#3371: Nissin Miojo Cremoso Sabor Estrogonofe De Frango – Brazil
I was initially very confused by this one but it seems to have fallen in place with a little translation from Google. Chicken stroganoff flavor! What a unique one here! Never have I seen a stroganoff instant before. Let’s give it a go!
#3370: Kang Shi Fu Artificial Dongpo’s Braised Pork Flavour – United States
Okay, so you might be thinking – United States? Why is he marking these as United States? Well, they’re made in Hong Kong it seems, then they’re only distributor from what I’m seeing is in New York.
#3369: Aji-No-Men Sabor Camaron – Peru
Time for another Peruvian variety today! This is shrimp flavor, and these are coming via a reader (thank you very much!). The company that produces these is Ajinomoto, the inventor of monosodium glutamate. Let’s give it a try!
#3368: Paldo Mr. Kimchi Kimchi Ramen – South Korea
I’ve had quite a few kimchi flavor ramen varieties over the years. Hell, I used to have a huge jar of kimchi in the fridge all the time when I first started doing reviews – I’d eat tons of it. It’s good stuff and lots of evidence supporting that it’s one of those ‘superfoods’ that promote health.
#3364: Shun Savory Dried Dandan Noodles – China
Here’s another one I found up at FoodyWorld in Richmond, BC. It’s nice – we can drive up to Canada in only a couple of hours and visit he largest population of Asian folks in North America. I’m really lucky to live where I do, doing what I do. Destiny? Perhaps. A lot of luck though!
#3362: Nissin Pasta U.F.O. Res Teriyaki – Mexico
I’m so curious how this is going to go. Most of the Nissin Mexico varieties tend to have a local spin as far as flavor goes. Will this one? I don’t know.
#3358: Nissin Top Ramen Shrimp Flavor Bowl – United States
Here’s the second of three new Top Ramen bowls from here in the United States. At first I though ‘okay, it’s just Top Ramen in a bowl.’ But the extras in these are very interesting. Definitely excited to try ’em. Let’s do it!
#3357: Kenko Foods Healthy Vegetable Ramen – Japan
Today, we have one that was part of Japan Crate’s Umai Crate. So Japan Crate is a subscription service which has all sorts of different options for you. pretty neat stuff from Japan! There’s a coupon code for you too – just use THERAMENRATER to get a special discount at check out.
#3355: Vite Ramen Garlic Pork Instant Noodle Soup v1.1 – United States
First off, I’m writing this on my son Miles’ birthday – happy birthday to you, dude! We’re so proud of you and you’re a neat person!
#3353: Yatekomo Fideos Orientales Pollo Al Curry – Spain
I usually listen to politics on the radio in the morning and the term ‘magic voodoo powder’ was just used. Anyways, this is a chicken curry variety from Spain and that sounds like a neat one to finish the week on – let’s give it a try!
#3348: Rooster Hot & Spicy Flavour Noodle Soup – Canada
Well hello there. A Rooster pack from Canada. These are found at the Real Canadian Superstore – which is kind of like Canada’s answer to Walmart in an equally big box style. It’s a neat place – I generally get my peanut butter there as they have the 2kg jars of Kraft Crunchy and it’s so freaking cheap. Buying a couple of those defrays the cost of gas in savings compared to buying peanut butter here and it’s the best peanut butter I’ve had. Y3eah – I’m a connoisseur of peanut butter. Oatmeal too. I really freaking love peanut butter and oatmeal. Every morning. Every day.
#3345: Peyoung Phakchi Lemon Ramen – Japan
Today we have a Zenpop.JP variety – so what’s Zenpop? They’re a subscription service for all things Japanese! Definitely, check them out. By the way, use coupon code RAMENRATER to get $2 off! Here’s what they had to say about this one -“Pakuchi is what we call cilantro/coriander in Japan. This ramen features pakuchi and lemon together. Wonder how it tastes? Chances are you will be addicted to this! Pakuchi is widely used in the world, but it was not so popular in Japan until around 2015. It became popular since then and has spread to the young and old, especially among women. Big pakuchi fans are called Pakuchisto in Japan. The pakuchi mixed with the lemon peel’s bitterness creates this unique and delicious taste.”
#3344: Nissin Miojo Lamen Sabor Frango Com Alho – Brazil
Brazil certainly has a myriad of flavors and instant noodles reflect those very nicely. This one, garlic chicken, sounds really good! I’d better get some chicken defrosting. Let’s check out these noodles sent by a reader!
#3342: EDO Pack Sesame Oil Flavour Noodle – Hong Kong
Alright so this one is made in Singapore, but it’s made for the Hong Kong market. It’s funny how products are made elsewhere for other countries, right? Well, you honestly should be used to it by now – Take the myriad of products in your home. If you have a Big Mouth Billy Bass on the wall, it’s made in China. Singing bass don’t seem like something very popular in China – could be wrong but who knows. Anyways, let’s crack this open and see what we have.
#3341: LMF Hong Kong Chow Mein Garlic Minced Pork Flavor – China
Yet again, that awesome little store called Smart’N’Save up in Richmond, BC at the Lansdowne Centre Mall never fails to impress. They had an array of these varieties and they certainly piqued my interest.
#3338: Nissin Pasta U.F.O. Camaron Fuego Salsa Habanero Picante – Mexico
Here’s another one of the Nissin Mexico varieties I received recently – thanks again! Spicy? Let’s find out! It mentions that it’s got kick from habanero which is most definitely spicy.
#3336: Nissin Top Ramen Chicken Flavor Bowl – United States
This one came in a special ‘First Taste Club’ box from Nissin Foods USA – pretty snazzy. So, what’s the big deal? Well, it’s Top Ramen, in a bowl. It also comes with vegetables. It also comes with… teriyaki sauce? I’m very curious about this one – let’s cook it up and ruminate on this…
#3333: Shuang Ren Hsu Famous Chinese Noodles Sesame & Peanuts – Taiwan
Found this one at 99 Ranch Market recently and thought it would be neat to try. It just amazes me how many Taiwanese dry noodle varieties and brands there are out there. They just keep popping up and so many contact me and ask if I’ll review them – which I really enjoy – and there are still brands I’ve never seen left and right! Let’s give this one a try!
#3331: Nona Lim Green Curry Noodle Bowl – United States
This is an interesting one and took a little research. Is a plant based diet same as a Vegan diet? Well this video explains that they’re two different things. This is a fresh bowl which requires refrigeration. I really like green curry – let’s give it a try!
#3329: Nissin Cup Noodles Dark Dragon Sabor Salsa Negra Y Limon – Mexico
I just have to say – what an ominous name for an instant noodle! I really dig that! When I saw this, I had to contact Nissin Mexico and see if I could get some. Well, they sent it! They also sent three U.F.O. Yakisoba varieties as well which you’ll see on upcoming reviews.
#3326: Nissin Miojo Nissin Lamen Hot Sabor Galinha – Brazil
I was told a while back that Brazilians don’t go all in for ultra spicy and that this range does have varieties that are spicier than others, but not super duper spicy. Either way, this sounded like a good one for today, so here we go.
#3324: Itsuki Cold Tea Soba – Japan
Today, we have one that was part of Japan Crate’s Umai Crate. So Japan Crate is a subscription service which has all sorts of different options for you. Pretty neat stuff from Japan! There’s a coupon code for you too – just use THERAMENRATER to get a special discount at check out.
#3321: Rooster Chili Chicken Flavour – Canada
I found these at the Real Canadian SuperStore up in Richmond, BC a while back. I’ve been quite surprised how good this very, well, boring packaged range is. It all ges to show that you shouldn’t judge a book by it’s cover, or noodles by it’s wrapper. I’m reviewing this one on Canada Day! Let’s give it a try!
#3320: Jongga Instant Noodle Kimchi Ramen Hot & Spicy Flavor – South Korea
My buddy Paul in Australia and I met when he mentioned this one on the facebook page. ‘Have you tried this?’ I found it at a local HMart – he tried the bowl version – I ound botht he pack and the bowl. It sounds good – I like kimchi a lot. I like how often they say real on the package – no dude, it’s real – it’s really really real.
#3316: Itsuki Kurume Hotomeki Ramen – Japan
Today, we have one that was part of Japan Crate’s Umai Crate. So Japan Crate is a subscription service which has all sorts of different options for you. Pretty neat stuff from Japan! There’s a coupon code for you too – just use THERAMENRATER to get a special discount at check out.

This one comes from Zenpop.jp – a subscription box service. If you want to check out their boxes and get one, use coupon code RAMENRATER for a discount. Some members from the idol group Nogizaka48 are printed on the label to give a special touch to the product, and you might see some of their printed autographs when you open the lid. Enjoy the combination of chicken and butter and this shio (salt) based ramen and contains slightly chunky potatoes along with cabbage, corn, and carrots. If you are a Nogizaka48 fan you should save the container after using it!”
#3312: Teishi Shaoxing Nuerhong Wine Instant Noodles – Taiwan
Here’s the second of the Teishi varieties I received recently. The first one was truly exceptional – curious how this one’s going to go – let’s find out!
#3311: Paldo Teumsae Ramen (9,413 SHU) – South Korea
I’ve been wanting to try this one for a great while. Happily, they were sent along by my new contact at Paldo! Thank you very much! This one screams mukbang to me but as some of you might know already, mukbang is something that’s getting harder and harder for me these days. I used to eat a LOT mre, and now I exercise and my diet is much more regulated. To put it bluntly, scarfing down a big block of carbs is easy when you do it more often than I do now.But of course, I’ll give it a shot.
#3310: Nissin Miojo Cremoso Sabor Molho De Queijo – Brazil
Here’s another one from a reader in Brazil – thank you very much! So from translation, it sounds like this is a cheese sauce noodle. It mentions ‘menos agua’ which means ‘less water,’ probably meaning this will have a thicker broth/sauce. Let’s give it a try!
#3305: Sapporo Ichiban CupStar Classic Shoyu – Japan
Today we have a Zenpop.JP variety – so what’s Zenpop? They’re a subscription service for all things Japanese! Definitely, check them out. By the way, use coupon code RAMENRATER to get $2 off! Here’s what they had to say about this one – ‘The original ‘CupStar Shoyu’ was released in 1975 (Showa 50), and is now back in your kitchen as a reprinted edition so you can try the original version. Toppings are scrambled eggs, kamaboko, shrimp, and scallion. The standard version today has minced pork, but the original version did not include it; instead, it has kamaboko (a type of cured fish paste). It is one of the simplest, yet most enjoyable instant ramens out there. Please enjoy the original version and explore a ‘back to the past’ experience!’
#3300: Maruchan Yellow Hakata Tonkotsu Ramen – Japan
Today we have a Zenpop.JP variety – so what’s Zenpop? They’re a subscription service for all things Japanese! Definitely, check them out. By the way, use coupon code RAMENRATER to get $2 off! Here’s what they had to say about this one – ‘This is a brand new ramen just debuted. It’s an updated version of an original that came out in 1982. The simplicity of this bowl of ramen is just right and irresistible. You can taste the kikurage (wood ear mushroom) as one of the toppings. Kikurage is low in fat and calories but rich in protein and other nutrients and is a particularly good source of the B vitamins, too. The tonkotsu broth is excellent – can you taste the umami from the dried sardine? There are two chashu pork slices on top to satisfy your mouth!’
#3293: Maruchan Ramen Noodle Soup Texas Beef Flavor – United States
After years of searching, here we are. Where are we and what is this? This is a pack of instant noodles that is only for inmates in correctional facilities – prisons. I found them on eBay and asked fans on the Facebook page if they would be interested in purchasing them (it was a pack of 24 and I only needed a couple) and send me a couple. A fellow named Nick Bizarro was kind enough to take up the task, and thanks to him, here we are.
#3292: Sapporo Ichiban Kita Kyushu Moji-Harbor Cheese Curry Ramen – Japan
Today we have a Zenpop.JP variety – so what’s Zenpop? They’re a subscription service for all things Japanese! Definitely, check them out. By the way, use coupon code RAMENRATER to get $2 off! Yaki Curry (grilled curry) is Moji-Harbor’s, in Fukuoka prefecture, beloved local dish, enjoyed for over 60 years. There are numbers of local cafes serving this dish around Moji-Harbor. The noodle itself is seasoned too which makes the soup blend in better with noodles. It’s a great combination of spicy curry soup with the mellow flavor of cheese.’
#3291: Itsuki Classic Udon – Japan
Here’s one from an Umai Crate – a subscription box from Japan. Use coupon code THERAMENRATER for a discount if you’d like to get one!
#3290: Nissin Men Shokunin Tonkotsu Ramen – Japan

We LOVE how healthy the noodle tastes, and no wonder it is very popular. The tonkotsu soup has much depth of flavor matching perfectly with garlic. Toppings are chashu, wood ear mushrooms and scallions. Since it is the lightest one out of this month’s pack, when you crave ramen in the middle of the night, this is the best bet.’
#3288: Little Cook Spicy Beef Flavor – Thailand
Almost 3000 reviews ago I gave this one a try. It looks as though I really liked it. It’s been such a long time it’s getting a new number- mainly because I’m going to guess that sourcing has changed at least soewhat and also the cup is different; it used to be a foam bowl.
#3287: Itsuki Neapolitan Spaghetti – Japan
Today, we have one that was part of Japan Crate’s Umai Crate. So Japan Crate is a subscription service which has all sorts of different options for you. pretty neat stuff from Japan! There’s a coupon code for you too – just use THERAMENRATER to get a special discount at check out.
#3286: INA Pan Mee Perisa Sup Laksa Nyonya Melaka – Malaysia
I’m truly stoked on this one – another one found again at that Smart N Save up in Richmond, BC Canada. This is one I decided not to get last time I was in Taiwan that I saw at Carrefour because, well, it was such a big package and I had limited space. What’s great is that they’ve got quite a few varieties up there so I’ll be trying more – and they’re cheap!
