I reviewed the counterpart to this one recently – that one being with ‘a spicy kick.’ This one doesn’t kick anything, but it’s tonkotsu so I’m guessing it softly massages you. Let’s give it a try.
Higashimaru Kagoshima Tonkotsu Ramen – Japan
Detail of the packaging (click to enlarge). Looks to be meat free but check for yourself. To prepare, boil noodles in 400ml water for 2 1/2 ~ 3 1/2 minutes. Add in sachet contents. Finally, stir and enjoy!
The noodle block.
A dry sachet of soup base.
Finished (click to enlarge). Added barbecue pork, spring onionm egg, kizami shoga, chili crisp with belacan, black sesame seed, and shichimi. Noodles were good – chewier than your average instant and engoreged well. The broth is a non thick tonkotsu, however it imparts a good creamy pork love in it’s way. 4.0 out of 5.0 stars. JAN bar code 4976740902811.
