#3534: Nongshim Soo Air-Dried Noodles Beef Flavor With Seaweed – South Korea

Nongshim Korean Famous Ramen Variety Selection (농심 라면) (Soo, Seaweed Ramen, 4 Pack)

This one is the first I’m reviewing from a ship that Nongshim America was kind enough to send – thank you! I should mention that James from Lakeside California sent one of these – thanks everyone! So from the little word-cloud above the name Soo, I’m guessing perhaps that the word Soo means excellent? I looked it up and it can (as a family name) mean water or shore/riverbank. I’m going to guess water will be the logical one here since these are air-dried noodles and not fried. That has a nice little logic to it, at least in my head. Let’s give them a try.

Detail of the packaging (click to enlarge). Contains beef. To prepare, add everything to 500ml boiling water and cook for 3 1/2~4 1/2 minutes, longer for softer noodles. Finally, stir and enjoy!

The noodle block.

A dry sachet of powder.

Vegetable flakes.

A wet sachet of sesame oil.

Finished (click to enlarge). Added beef sauteed in soy sauce, sesame seeds, spring onion, and egg, The noodles are very unique; they have a nice chew to them. They’re chewy as well as soft – kind of a dual layered kind of action going on. The broth is a light beef flavor and then there’s the seaweed which is downright plentiful – and it all works very well. 3.75 out of 5.0 stars.  UPC bar code 031146048595.
