Here’s one that came in a Zenpop.jp box – use coupon code THERAMENRATER for a groovy discount!

Here’s what they had to say about it – ‘This is a new product from the long-selling series “Wakame Ramen” (わかめラーメン), which celebrates its 39th anniversary in 2022, perfect to enjoy the taste of Mie Ise lobster dashi (三重伊勢海老だししお)! The moderately seasoned noodles are smooth, firm, and crisp. The salt soup is flavored with the delicious taste of seafood. The addition of the optional seasoning oil gives the soup a savory shrimp flavor. The soup is finished with wakame seaweed, which has a rich seashore flavor, bran, sesame seeds, and chili peppers, which absorb the soup and make it juicy.’

Well, no lobster here – shrimp. However, lobster tends to be considered a dragon shrimp elsewhere, so that works I suppose. Let’s give this a try.

Detail of the lid (click to enlarge).

The noodle block.

A dry base sachet.

A sachet of seaweed and other things.

A liquid base sachet.

Finished (click to enlarge). Added shrimp, scallion, and sesame seed. Noodle is kind of so-so. Broth is a light clear one with a decent about of seaweed flavor and a buttery shrimp hit to it. The sheer amount of seaweed and wakame is a little off-putting for this reviewer. Not to my liking. 1.75 out of 5.0 stars.  JAN 4901071216887.
