Today, we combine a noodle made in Hong Kong with a broth concentrate from the United States. I decided this would be a great venue to try out the homemade chashu we made this weekend – I’ll include the recipe in a video below as well. Let’s give this combo a try!
Yamasa Artisanal Tonkotsu Broth x Sau Tao Sichuan Noodle – USA/HK
Detail of the label (click to enlarge). Contains pork. To prepare, use 2 tbsp per 8oz of hot water – I used four in 600ml, then added the noodle and boiled 3 minutes. Finally, stir and enjoy!
I pulled the noodle from this pack.
Excellent straight noodles.
Finished (click to enlarge). Added homemade chashu pork, sesame seed, spring onion, and shichimi. The noodle was as expected – light chew and nice gauge. The broth worked very well – a nice rich tonkotsu. 4.0 and 4.5 stars respectively.
