Okay, this is a big deal I think. I know – it looks very generic; very plain. But this isn’t what Ii see. This is a product of Brazil. It’s a Kroger store brand. Who is making this for them? I’ve no idea. I look at the big players in the Brazilian instant noodle market and mainly see a lot of Nissin Miojo stuff. However, the noodle and sachet style doesn’t lean me in that direction. A six pack – and it’s cheap – I think it was $4 for 2 of these – so I got both this and the chicken yesterday. I’ve also noticed that on the directions, it’s referring this noodle as pasta. Pasta? Hmm.
I mentioned in a post the other day that I had an episode of my leg getting nicked and spraying blood everywhere – no fooling. Well, this morning yet again but much less gory. So, more reviews coming very soon as I’m not going anywhere at the moment. Happily, I’ve got am appointment in the morning – hopefully they’ll nail a steel plate to my shin and it’ll stop bothering. Let’s cook these noodles – here we go!
Smart Way Beef Flavor Ramen Noodle Soup – United States

Detail of the packaging (click to enlarge). Looks to be meat free but check for yourself. To prepare, boil noodle in 2.5 cups water for 3 minutes. Add in sachet contents. Finally, stir and enjoy!

One of the six individual packs.

Detail of the packaging (click to enlarge). Looks like no bar code here, so no single pack sales.

An instant noodle block.

A sachet of soup base powder seasoning.

Finished (click to enlarge). Added egg, fishcake, Chinese sausage, scallion, sesame seed, and pepper thread. Noodle is fascinating. Definitely not the standard domestic fare; it has an interesting chew to it – that’s not a megative, however some might find it unfamiliar. The broth was quite good – thin beef flavored broth that with the 2.5 cups water called for held up the flavorful standards vs blandness. All in all, I think heavy users of domestic made brands will be pleased. 3.5 out of 5.0 stars. UPC bar code 01111014874.
