Wang Artificial Hot Chicken & Carbonara Flavour Topokki - South Korea

Well, damn. I thought that this was a rapokki but I was wrong. So, time to review a bowl of tteokbokki. Not quite a noodle, but found where the noodles live. Let’s cook it up.

Detail of the side panels (click to enlarge). Looks to be meat free but check for yourself. To prepare, add rice cake and red sachet contents into cup. Add 80ml water and stir well. Microwave uncovered for 3 minutes at 1000w. Add in powder base sachet. Finally, stir and enjoy!

Detail of the lid (click to enlarge).

A big pouch of rice cake – don’t eat the dessicant. It won’t kill you however it’s not good and not food.

A sachet of spicy base.

A dry base – presumably elements of cheese.

Finished (click to enlarge). Added egg, chashu, spring onion, sesame seed, and crushed red pepper. The tteokbokki was just perfectly done – microwaved. The flavor really leaned towards a traditional tteokbokki sauce – sweet and spicy – the cheese powder didn’t really impart a carbonara as it were, however it was very good. 4.0 out of 5.0 stars.  UPC bar code 087703071025.
