Hippopotamus noodle, eh? No, no Moo Deng in here, sorry fans… It’s Vegetarian-friendly. This one’s interesting and took a bit of research to figure out how it ticks. The package is interesting too – lots of odd perforations going on. Let’s give it a go!
Freshippo Vegetarian Noodles – China

Detail of the packaging (click to enlarge). Says it’s Vegetarian-friendly but check for yourself. To prepare, boil noodles for 3~4 minutes. Drain. Heat sachet for 1~2 minutes, then add to bowl. Add 200ml boiling water and drained noodles. Finally, stir and enjoy!

Finished (click to enlarge). Added scallion, sesame seed, basil, and crushed red pepper. Noodle is great – no problem there. The broth and flavor? There’s next to no flavor. The mushrooms are really great. Sadly, it needs something to give it flavor. It’s bland. Very bland. I hate to say bland as it does have a tiny bit of flavor, but so little. 1.0 out of 5.0 stars.
