I tried the spicy version the other day, and while it was pretty good, I was left wishing it centered simply on salted egg. Well, this one does exactly that – shall we dance?

Big thanks to Daniel over at ExoticNoods for sending this over! Well, this will publish way later, but at the moment, I’m sick. It’s mid August. Just a crummy deal. Especially today – it’s my son Miles’s birthday today! Wanted to do a bunch of fun stuff but can’t stand for very long – hoping its a sinus infection . Started with COVID the other day and was feeling better then egad whomp. Anyways, Happy Birthday to Miles!

Here’s a variety that I found in one of MiauMall’s Nakama Noodles subscription boxes! Inside, they have 8-10 different varieties from Japan! If you’d like to get one, don’t forget to use the coupon code THERAMENRATER for a discount! Let’s see what they had to say about this one – “From Mario to miso, we’ve got another tasty bowl of ramen! Men-Zukuri is popular for its tasty, non-flash fried noodles, making them nice, thick and chewy. This maze-soba is no different and features a miso-based sauce that we can’t get enough of!”

Well, it’s Tuesday and Kamala Harris just announced Tim Walz as her running mate. I’m guessing you know how it pans out for them at this point, but for me it is August 6th. This one sounds good – tteokbokki is a rich cake in tube form. When prepared, they’re chewy and usually paired with a spicy and sweet sauce. This one is also including noodle, so this is ‘rabokki.’ Let’s cook this huge pack.

So Yoko Street sends fresh ramen to your door – here’s their website. I tried a few varieties a little while back and was enthused! Let’s try this and a couple more!

Here’s the second of three sent by Yoko Street. I think this is the first udon I’ve tried from these folks – I could be wrong. Looks like the good stuff too – thick and chewy. Guess we’ll find out!

If you’d like to get one, don’t forget to use the coupon code THERAMENRATER for a discount! Let’s see what they had to say about this one – “Nissin Donbei is back in spicy form! This tasty bowl of udon with fried tofu combines pork, shoyu (soy sauce), katsuo dashi and plenty of spice for a red hot soup. We hope this bowl feels like a whole fireworks show going on in your mouth in the tastiest way possible!’

Hey look – it’s different! Yep – slightly smaller size and new design. I should note it won’t be in the West for a while. I needed to gather some things to be able to review these – you’ll see what it’s garnished. This has been my absolutely favorite instant noodle products for a very, very long time, I first tried the non-wholegrain version back in 2013 and I remember calling a friend who worked at another company and told them – ‘take notice of this – things are changing.’ Well, they have. With this review I’m also unveiling my new background. I’d been using a woven black plastic placemat for about ten years. It was time to change. This is a flooring plank cut to size and I’m pretty happy with it – you’ll see it more as time goes on. Anyways, on to the cooking – I’m very excited to try these again for the first time in the new package/size. Let us begin.

Let’s see what they had to say about this one – “Inspired by the tonkotsu ramen of Fukuoka prefecture, this cup features creamy pork bone broth with a bit of shoyu, garlic and ginger for a smooth taste and tons of flavor. Plus, these noodles should have the right amount of bite to satisfy any noodle lover!”

This one came by way of James from Lakeside, CA – thanks! This is a fancy one – with booze! Yup – there’s alcohol in one of the sachets. Let’s cook it up and see how it goes.

The second of two varieties of egg white noodles. These are much thinner – really curious if they’ll do well when made dry with some Hae Bee Hiam sambal from MAlaysia? I suppose we will find out!

I don’t normally review noodles – I review noodles and seasoning. But when I caught wind of this, I thought maybe I should reach out to the company. Sure enough, they sent samples – so I’m going to give ’em a try. What’s fascinating is that these are egg white noodles. That’s pretty much it – egg whites and water. Let’s see what happens.

Let’s see what they had to say about this one – “Time to head to Hakata for their interpretation of the Gion Festival and some tasty tonkotsu ramen! Hakata is famous for its creamy pork bone ramen, but this cup kicks it up a notch with pork fat for a deep, rich flavor and accents of onion, garlic and sesame!”

This ramen features a tasty miso base with the addition of beef and gochujang to create a soup that is nutty, full of umami and deliciously spicy!”

A really neat one from James of Lakeside, CA – thanks again! So this is a snack noodle concoction. I don’t know exactly how to present it other than in a bowl at the end so that’s probably all I will do and the video will be short but hey – I’ll give it it’s day in the sun. Sounds really good – let’s check it out!

Let’s see what they had to say about this one – “We love yakisoba, and while it can be found all over Japan, one of our noodle staff has fond memories of eating this by the ocean at summer festivals. This yakisoba features a traditional yakisoba sauce with tons of flavor and tasty chicken soup to enjoy on the side!”

This one took a little digging, but found what it was eventually. It’s a pan mee – a flat noodle. Curious what a Chinese pan mee will be like – guess we’ll find out!

Let’s see what they had to say about this one – “Last on our list is the revamp of Raoh’s classic tonkotsu shoyu pack! This pack features the classic plump and chewy noodles Raoh is famous for as well as a special broth that incorporates Kagoshima black pork with shoyu and hints of garlic!”

This one came out of a Zenpop box a while back. I didn’t get any explanation of what we have here, but the research I did via bar code came up with the title. Sounds good to me – let’s check it out!

I really wanted to demo this stuff with something like, oh I dunno – Buldak Kimchi – which would’ve been fun. Unfortunately, they have so curtailed their individual pack options at HMart that there were literally only two Korean varieties. Yep. I ended up getting a pack of Meoguri at the local grocery store – pretty sad. I went with Neoguri though because it’s quite nice stuff, and I believe I saw a video of this kimchi mix being used with Neoguri – seems an apt pairing. Well, let’s give it a shot!

If you’d like to get one, don’t forget to use the coupon code THERAMENRATER for a discount! Let’s see what they had to say about this one – “Miso ramen is famous in Hokkaido, but this pack changes things up by taking it to coastal prefecture of Kagoshima. This tasty pack combines rich miso with a Kagoshima pork dashi (Japanese soup stock) to create an extra savory bowl of ramen!”

Another one from James of Lakeside, CA – thanks! The last one of these Siu Kay variants was seafood – and incredibly good. I’m curious about this one – let’s cook it and maybe a mukbang at the bottom.

This is a special one. I’m doing a collab with a bar in Seattle’s Capitol Hill neighborhood called Time Warp, and this is the variety I’ve picked for July 2024 for their menu. This is the pack version and they’ve got the cup version – for some reason, nobody’s got any cups around here of this one which is a bummer, but it’s very similar. So, let’s cook it up!

Another one sent by James from Lakeside, CA – thanks! This is really fascinating. Is it going to be incredibly spicy? It sounds good… Well, no way to know until I cook it and give it a try.

This comes by way of James from Lakeside, CA – thank you again! So these look interesting – they employ brown rice noodles. Let’s give it a whirl!

I saw a couple new varieties from Ramen Bae coming out and asked for samples – and here’s a couple of them. Today, I’ll toss in some beef mix and the enoki mushroom mix. Today’s an interesting day – it’s national sunglasses day, bingo day, work from home day, and the big debate. It’s about ten a.m. here and I’m really looking forward to making a pizza, having a couple of drinks, and watching 90 minutes of insanity. This will probably come out well after the election is over, so who knows. My prediction is that Biden does really quite well. Whichever side you’re on, hopefully the world isn’t completely broken when you see this. Let’s make some noodles!

Well, that’s it. I’m out. No nodles left here to review. Been on a real tear of reviewing lately which is nice, but now I need to find more… Hmmm… It’s May 30th, 2024 as I write this which is kinda crazy. I’m guessing it’s closer to winter in your timeframe? Elections probably over by now… Crazy. Well, let’s cook it up. I’ll figure out where to get more noodles tomorrow.

These have been really wonderful so far and really glad to be reviewing them! Let’s cook these up!

I’m generally not a fan of mushrooms, but I’m curious about this one. I do like zhajiang though… I reviewed the Mom’s Dry Noodle pack of this a long time ago, so afterwards I’ll take a look at what I thought back then.

Well, the last one of these wasn’t very good. Very salty. Noodle was nice though. This one has a different style noodle and claims to be spicy. Hopefully it isn’t just a spicy rendition of their original flavor. We will see.

Check this out! New Surfmama packages arrived at my door the other day (late May 2024) and now I’m reviewing them. Let’s check out the spicy mala!

The second of two fresh ramen varieties from Myojo USA! This you’ll find in the refrigerated section. Looking forward to this – let’s give it a try!

This one sounds good – it’s a rainy day here so something miso should work well.

Found this one at 99 Ranch Market. Looked interesting and it’s not only got a brand ambassodor tie-in (no clue who this guy is though) and a sweeepstakes for what looks like an iWatch. Also, a TON of sachets. Let’s give it a go.

This special Super Cup ramen collab with Chainsaw Man features delicious sweet & spicy pork kimchi, with a hint of garlic to round out the flavor.”

I don’t usually do this. I don’t show you something almost completely enjoyed. But this is because I’ve enjoyed it that much! You should go over to The Ramen Bae and get this stuff. This is a topping you throw in with your noodles as they steep or boil and it’s truly magnificent. It also works well in soups, rice – you name it. Let’s continue…

We found this at S*Mart in Bellevue, WA a few months ago right before my birthday. These are freaking large packs – let’s check ’em out.

This pack combines a tonkotsu base and dried fish base for a unique, full flavor. Add thick, springy noodles and you’ll have tasty ramen (or tsukemen)!”
