#4658: Shen Gong Fried Rice Noodles Artificial Beef Flavor With Chili Oil – United States

I’ve been reviewing instant noodles since 2002, doing episodes of Instant Noodle Recipe Time, The Chocolate Break with my wife, Professional Mukbang, Unboxing Time With The Ramen Rater and more. Right now, we’re in a pretty crummy financial situation and hoping that some of the fans will be able to help out. I really loathe asking like this. I’ve set up a GoFundMe. It really is strange – you hear about statistics like ‘this percentage are one paycheck away from financial ruin.’ I love going to the thrift store and finding some trinket on the cheap. Right now, that’s a luxury I can’t even fathom, really. What’s crummy too is the time of the year that this is happening. Holidays plus my daughter’s birthday is a week before Christmas. Ugh. Here’s the link if you can help out.

My family and I would truly appreciate it – if you can’t afford it, I completely understand. Monies will go for mounting bills and hopefully some gifts for the kids. If there’s any extra, I’ll get a couple things that will benefit the website and shooting video (mainly a new light) but that’s kind of secondary at this point.

This one’s pretty interesting. So, it’s made in China and definitely an export version – and it’s Vietnamese style. Not only that, it’s espousing Xinhua flavor – basically new Chinese flavor, but it’s authentic Vietnamese. huh? Well, let’s just roll with it and give it a try.

Detail of the lid (click to enlarge). Looks to be meat free but check for yourself. To prepare, steep noodles in boiling water for 5 minutes. Drain. Add in sachet contents. Finally, stir and enjoy!

A bunch of rice noodle.

A liquid base sachet.

Another liquid base sachet.

Pickled or fermented something – cabbage?

Finished (click to enlarge). Added spring onion and crushed red pepper. Rice noodle hydrated perfectly – really nice broad rice noodle in this one. The flavor was rather acidic though and just not to my liking, especially the pickled bits which were odd.  1.0 out of 5.0 stars. EAN bar code 6972704971761.
