#519: Snapdragon Pan-Asian Cuisine Beijing Vegetable Rice Noodle Soup

Sheesh – almost 20% through the 500’s – didn’t expect that to happen so quickly! So here we have the Snapdragon cup, Beijing Vegetable. I got it locally but if you want to try it you can get it here. These have been pretty good so far – let’s see how the veggies do…

Two packets, three seasonings. The bigger one has the powder and an oil. The green contains the ‘Beijing vegetables.’

Here’s everything sitting atop the rice noodles. Looks nice and decent enough.

Click image to enlarge. Finished and not looking too pretty, is it? Well, the veggie eventually came to the top and looked very nice, so don’t worry. The noodles were nice and light, but the flavor was way too light. I could barely taste anything to be honest. The veggies were nice though. Not extremely enthused though. 2.0 out of 5.0 stars.   1. I agree on this one – the flavor certainly wasnt bad, but definitely very very mild. If this was supposed to be vegetarian or low sodium or something I would understand, but its based on a fish broth and has 60% sodium but still little flavor. I added about a tablespoon of soy sauce and ginger, and it made it delicious. Im not sure how during product testing they didnt add something to increase the flavor..

    Also, the stupid lid didnt fit right and sort of melted into the cup while it was steeping. I just threw it away and used a book. And the cup itself is difficult to eat out of but I guess thats the limitations of a cup..I also agree that the noodles were a bit mushy like you said in another snapdragon review. A few hard bites every now and then and they stuck to the inside of the cup.

    Meh.. this and the mushroom flavor, not impressed.. their spicier soups look a lot better but unfortunately they dont allow you to control the heat level so not for me 🙁 ..I also agree – 2.0 stars.
