#2992: Nissin Miojo Cremoso Sabor Pizza - Brazil

This one comes by way of Daniel from Brazil – thanks again! Well, my friends – pizza. I love reviewing pizza instant noodles. Why? Because it’s awesome, that’s why! I’ve actually tried quite a few – the first was from Pakistan, then India, then Indonesia and I think there are more. Now Brazil enters the hallowed realm of the pizza flavor instant noodle. Let’s give it a try!

A lot of powder.

Finished (click to enlarge). Added spring onion, pepperoni, havarti cheese, fried onion and red pepper flakes. The noodles came out nicely – flat and slightly broad. They slurped all but a speck of water during the cooking process. The flavor was a very salty ‘party pizza’ kind of taste to it – onion, bell pepper and tomato flavors bound together. The pizza instant noodle is a fascinating thing and this one is pretty good. 3.5 out of 5.0 stars. EAN bar code 7891079001509.

Finished (click to enlarge). Added turkey pepperoni, mozzarella cheese and coriander. The noodles come out pretty well and have a good texture and mouthfeel. So, the next question – does it taste like cheese pizza in its unadulterated form? Indeed, it tastes like pizza! I am very pleased with that. Undoubtedly, the idea of cheese pizza flavored noodles sounds strange, however it works with noodles quite well. I would have eaten this by the truckload as a kid! 4.0 out of 5.0 stars. #2224: Wai Wai X-press Flavour Of Pizza In Noodles Proprietary Food

I want to send a huge thank you to Marvin R. of Texas for sending me this – the second pizza flavored instant noodle I’ve EVER reviewed! The first one was from Pakistan – this one’s from India! Not only that, but this one’s a proprietary food! Let’s check it out!

Has an interesting scent.

An oil sachet.

A thick oil.

Finished (click to enlarge). Added Hormel Turkey Pepperoni, sliced black olive, coriander and shredded mozzarella cheese. The noodles had a nice way about them – a light crumble and good gauge; definitely from India. The broth has a little thickness to it and a flavor that made me think of the herbs and spices one would add to pizza sauce along with a peppery component. It was fascinating and quite good! 4.0 out of 5.0 stars.  EAN bar code 8906013030671.

The Ramen Rater’s MyKuali Penang White Curry Pizza

One thing that really surprised me during our trip was seeing that a lot of the fast food chains that are popular here in the United States are also popular in Malaysia. Burgers, fried chicken and even pizza were well represented by popular chain restaurants over there (I will say that there was no sign of the ubiquitous taco chain here). They all had different ways of serving things to fit with the local taste; like spicy fried chicken with rice or seafood pizza. This got me thinking that maybe a fusion of pizza and MyKuali White Curry might work in some way. I thought about it for a while and decided today was the day. We got the ingredients together and The Ramen Rater’s MyKuali White Curry Pizza was born! Check it out!

The Ramen Rater’s MyKuali Penang White Curry Pizza

Ingredients

  • 1 pkg MyKuali White Curry Noodle (you will only need the paste sachet and the seasoning sachet)
  • 1 pizza crust
  • 1 white onion
  • Tau Pok (tofu puff)
  • Fish balls
  • Coriander (known as cilantro here in the USA)
  • 1 jar Alfredo sauce
  • 1 pkg Shredded mozzarella cheese
  • olive oil

The fish balls I had were frozen, and so I boiled them in some water and added the contents of the MyKuali Penang White Curry Noodle seasoning sachet.

On the left are the tau pok – I used kitchen scissors and cut them into thin slices. On the right is some white onion I sliced as well.

I wasn’t sure how much alfredo sauce would be needed for the pizza, so I thought a logical amount would be the same as the water usually called for on the package of noodles. I put it ion a saucepan and heated it very gently and added the contents of the curry paste sachet and stirred regularly.

I wanted to slice the fishballs nicely but wasn’t sure how, then it came to me: a hard boiled egg slicer! I found also with this one that after closing it, a fork would pull it off nicely.

Here’s the alfredo curry sauce when it was ready to go.

Alright – let’s put this pizza together! I started by adding a little even coat of olive oil to the crust, and then added a layer of the sauce.

Next, some mozzarella.

Coriander…

White onion…

Tau pok…

Sliced fishball…

Some more of the curry sauce…

Finally, a little more mozzarella.

Into the over, preheated to 450 degrees.

Eight minutes later, we have a pizza!

Here’s a side view of the finished product(click image to enlarge).

Finally, a picture from above (click image to enlarge). How is it? Well, the curry and alfredo paired wonderfully well. It’s a very sloppy pizza of course the way we did it, but could be a little less so without the second addition of the curry sauce. To be honest though, I really liked the drippy nature of it. The fishball lent a nice little fish hit, and the sliced white onion had an agreeable crunchiness. If you really like pizza and you really like MyKuali Penang White Curry, I think you’d probably enjoy this quite a bit! For a different crust, I suppose you could use naan bread or parantha – that could be really good too. Special thanks to my wife Kit for her help in preparing.

#504: Knorr Pizza Instant Noodles

Yes, that’s right – it’s pizza flavored noodles. More interesting? They’re from Pakistan! So here’s yet another show of force in international fusion cuisine! Pizza is Italian, ramen noodles are a Japanese thing, and Pakistan is, well, another country! Well, let’s dig in!

Single packet. The packet itself had an interesting texture to it – kind of soft.

Here’s the seasoning – smelled kind of like a party pizza you’d find in the frozen section at the supermarket.

Click image to enlarge. Here we go with some pizza flavored instant noodles. The noodles aren’t too bad – pretty standard fare like something Maruchan or Nissin would have as far as a domestic US product. Not a lot of noodles though for two cups of water. The broth had a kind of ‘party pizza’ like flavor to it – was quite strange but not bad. Very unique and truly multinational! 3.0 out of 5.0 stars.

Wow check this out – a ten minute cartoon about Knorr Noodles! Not only that, there are lots more of them!

This guy’s the man – party pizza, ramen, bacon and cheese – oh and hot sauce!
