Key details about chicken in carbonara: Not Authentic: True carbonara, originating from Rome, excludes chicken, garlic, onions, and cream.
Now, we live in a world where we can’t leave well enough alone. That being said, chicken carbonara does exist. I know, I harp on this to no end – and honestly, I do like this variety (at least the last time I reviewed the pack version I’m pretty sure I did). My son Miles is really excited to try this and he’s in the mukbang we did below. Samyang Buldak Carbonara Spicy Ramen Artificial Spicy Chicken Flavor – United States

Detail of the packaging (click to enlarge). Looks to be meat free but check for yourself. To prepare, boil noodle for 5 minutes and drain saving 1/2 a cup water. Add the water and sachet contents. Finally, stir and enjoy!

An instant noodle block.

A sachet of spicy sauce base.

A sachet of powder base.

Finished (click to enlarge). Added scallion and chashu. Noodle is exceptionally good – thick and curly – broader than usual as well. This is perfect. The sauce was a creamy and sweet savory one with a nice amount of heat and a cheese kind of profile. It was really good – one I might consider recreationally. 4.5 out of 5.0 stars.
