Man, I’ve been itching to get my hands on this stuff for quite awhile and finally it showed up at my local grocery store. This is a pretty good range – especially the sizzlin’ rich pork – that one’s excellent. Let’s see if the Mongols can conquer them all!

Nissin Hot & Spicy Fire Wok Volcanic Mongolian Beef – United States
Detail of the side panels (click to enlarge). Looks to be meat free but check for yourself. To prepare, add in the two sachets – not the fire sachet. Fill to line with room temperature water. Microwave at 1000W for 5 minutes. Add in fire sauce sachet. Finally, stir and enjoy!

Finished (click to enlarge). Added chashu (I had no beef), scallion, sesame seed, and crushed red pepper. Noodles and sauce – a sloppy affair which was welcome and had nice mouthfeel. It was like Hamburger Helper with ramen. However, the flavor was really odd – and the spiciness was strong, but felt as though achieved with pepper extract. It should be noted there was pepper in there; mostly skin. All in all, if you want something to start with as a base to add on, sure. On it’s own though it is a confusing affair. 2.5 out of 5.0 stars. UPC bar code 07066209504.
