Here’s one that came in a Zenpop.jp box – use coupon code THERAMENRATER for a groovy discount!

Here’s what they had to say about it – ‘A deep soup broth, full of flavor! The Maruuma (まる旨) series offers a now classic taste created by Acecook, one of Japan’s biggest noodle
producer. This cup comes with smooth, crisp, square-edged noodles. The rich miso broth is made with Shinshu miso and the flavor of pork. It’s all topped with crunchy cabbage for additional texture, colorful corn, green onions, chili peppers, and soybean gristle are also added to the soup to make it an explosion of flavor.’

These are pretty expensive, at least when I’ve seen them up in Canada. Let’s try out some miso.

The noodle block.

Loose seasoning and bits from the cup.

Finished (click to enlarge). Added mung bean sprout, soft egg, chashu, shichimi, spring onion, and sesame seed. Noodle was pretty good. Broth was a light miso – almost hard to tell except for the corn in there. Not bad, not exceptional. 3.25 out of 5.0 stars.  JAN bar code 4901071246211.
