Recently, I got an Instagram message from someone interested in this variety. Not to see what I thought of it, but asking if I had a recent scan of the packaging. They make rad little keychains for sale at events and Etsy soon, so I figured I haven’t done this newer packaging version, so why not? I’m in the mood I think, let’s give it a go.
Samyang Original Buldak Spicy Ramen – United States

Detail of the side panels (click to enlarge). Looks to be meat free but check for yourself. To prepare, add boiling water to the line and cover for 4 minutes. Drain. Add in sachet contents. Finally, stir and enjoy!

Detail of the lid (click to enlarge). Note the three triangles. That’s where you poke chopsticks through and have a drain spout.

An instant noodle block.

A sachet of liquid soup base.

A sachet of vegetables.

Finished (click to enlarge). Added egg, scallion, and sesame seed. This is a pretty standard variety these days. Thicker, chewier ramyun. Sauce is still the spicy stuff, yet it seemed less spicy than I remember. The sauce isn’t slippery or ‘saucy’ after application – very dry here. Inxcluded garnish is the standard sesame seed and seaweed. I would say I prefer the pack version as it reserves a little broth to make it more saucy. Also, it seems the pack version is generally spicier. 3.25 out of 5.0 stars. EAN bar code 8801073210776.
