Here’s what they had to say about it – ‘Just like the whole world is captivated by Japan and its many flavors, so is Japan fascinated by the rest of the world! This limited edition cup noodle from the origin of instant ramen, Nissin, is inspired by the flavors of Singapore, the garden city of Southeast Asia. It stands out among ramen with a mellow coconut base and spicy accents, which are characteristics of southeastern Asian cuisine. The real kicker, though, is the lemongrass and special laksa paste, that cling to the evergreen Nissin noodles. Laksa paste, for those uninitiated, is a paste that gives soups a color as orange as the flaming Singapore sunset, made with chili, tamarind, shallots shrimp and galangal.’
I’m a big fan of laksa, so big hopes for this one.

Detail of the side panels (click to enlarge). Contains shrimp, chicken and pork. To prepare, fill to line with noiling water and cover 3 minutes. Add in sachet contents. Finally, stir and enjoy!

The noodle block.
A lot of powder base from the cup.
A paste sachet that was affixed to the lid.
Finished (click to enlarge). Added fish ball, mung bean sprout, scallion, crushed red pepper, and fried onion. Noodle was the standard flat and thin variety. The broth was honestly very tasty – pretty thick and savory. A whisper of heat and coconut milk, but then a kind of almost tom yum like back to it which was fascinating. 4.0 out of 5.0 stars.
