#4175: Peyoung Noodle - Japan

Here’s one that came in a Zenpop.jp box – use coupon code THERAMENRATER for a groovy discount!

They had this to say about it – ‘Peyoung Noodle has been loved for many years since its launch in 1973. They stayed true to their original taste, but upgraded the packaging!
This lovely cup of noodles comes in a light soy sauce-based soup that marries perfectly with the fragrant shrimp and seasoned minced chicken included within. It’s fairly colorful and comes with thin noodles and a generous amount of toppings. For many, this is a very nostalgic cup of noodle to be enjoyed on one of those days when you’re not feeling it. Sesame oil and its gentle aromas
will pick you right up!’

Days I’m not feel it? I dunno I think I feel it every single day. This one is very much like the original instant noodle from Japan in 1958 – the noodles are seasoned. This should be good.  Let’s check it out!

The noodle block.

A sachet of garnish.

A smaller sachet – I’m guessing shichimi.

Finished (click to enlarge). Added soft egg, mung bean sprouts, sesame seed, scallions, and shichimi. This one was like a little trip down memory lane for me. The noodle has a nice sesame flavor to it which seasons the broth. Very light tooth and soft. The broth has that sesame flavor with a tinge of pepperiness. Bits of kamaboko and squares of bready things that remind me of flower fu are prevalent. A nice retro from yesteryear. 5.0 out of 5.0 stars.  JAN bar code 4902885000341.
