#1845: MAMA Oriental Style Instant Noodles Shrimp Flavour

Here’s one of the last I have from Bangladesh! Got these send to me after my trip to Thailand to visit the folks who make MAMA noodles! Thanks again! Shrimp sounds good today – let’s check ’em out!

Here’s the back of the package (click to enlarge). Looks to be meat free but check for yourself. To prepare, add noodles and sachet contents to 225ml boiling water. Cook for 2 minutes. Stir and enjoy!

The noodle block.

Dry soup base sachet.

Has the spicy scent of chilli powder.

An oil sachet.

Has a shrimp scent.

Finished (click to enlarge). Added lime, shrimp and coriander. The noodles were thin and dainty light. Very little chewiness here, but they were enjoyable. The broth was a spicy shrimp flavor. 3.25 out of 5.0 stars. EAN bar code 8941181000026.

#855: Vina Acecook Bestcook Instant Noodles Hot & Sour With Shrimp Flavour

Here’s a new one – sounds good to me – kind of funny having two instants that are ‘hot and sour’ flavored in a row…

The label around the side! Click to enlarge!

Hey – a new fork!

The noodle block.

Powder seasoning.

Slightly granular in nature.

There are two liquid packets.

Dark and thick.

This is a seasoned oil.

Looks interesting…

The veggie and seafood packet.

I must say – I’m quite impressed with the variety here.

Finished (click image to enlarge). Added some bell pepper, onion, broccoli, odeng (Korean fish cake), hard boiled egg with Tony Chachere’s Creole Seasoning and a few squirts of Huy Fong Sriracha chili sauce. The noodles are thin, tasty and buttery – exceptional. The broth has a nice spicy, sour and tasty flavor. The vegetable/seafood mixture wasn’t bad; I would say it adds more to the broth than as something that stands out on its own. This was really quite good – 4.25 out of 5.0 stars – I’m impressed.  UPC bar code 8934563501167 .

#680: Vina Acecook King Cook Shrimp Flavour

Today’s my birthday! Yay! I haven’t had any Vina Acecook in a while so I thought I’d have this one that was in the bags of noodles my sis brought me back from the great white north! Yay! Time fer noodles!

Here’s the back of the package (click image to enlarge) – on the front it touted ‘no MSG’ and on the ingredient list I notice it mentions antioxidants in both the seasoning and the noodles. Interesting.

The noodle block – mid sized.

I’m a little surprised here – only one packet?! Usually there’s at least three in Vina Acecook’s stuff. Hope the one has some splendid flava!

Here’s the dry seasoning.

Finished (click image to enlarge). I added two fried eggs, some fried shallot, a couple bits of frozen stirfry vegetables and a little of my favorite hot sauce of all time! Let me just say after sampling and reviewing over 275 different hot sauces as The Sauce Rater a few years back, Melinda’s Garlic Habanero is by far my favorite! Okay so first, the noodles. They’re not bad – not great. Kind of on the cheap side. The broth’s getting an ‘okay’ from me. This was a little disappointing, but after adding everything else it was a nice meal. Allin all, kind of meh. 2.75 out of 5.0 stars. UPC barcode 8934563734169 .

Vina Acecook commercial.

People used to care about the space program when I was a kid and now its budget is tiny in comparison. I say end all military spending and split it on NASA and ending poverty- full bellies and Star Trek! Who’s with me?

#554: Yum Yum Shrimp Flavour (Tom Yum) Oriental Style Instant Noodles

Here we have some Yum Yum noodles sent to me from Holland. made in Thailand and they’re Tom Yum flavor. Sounds good to me – here we go.

Just like all the other Yum Yum flavorrs except this one has drk flavored oil – hmm…

Looks like oil and perhaps a paste going on.

The finished product (click image to enlarge). A couple of fried eggs and a few drips of the new Tabasco Buffalo style hot sauce. Noodles aren’t great but not bad – kind of baseline good. The first thing I taste is lemon, characteristic tom yum. Spicy too. The broth has a nice color and flavor that permeates the noodles very well. Good bowl of noodles – 3.5 out of 5.0 stars.

Yum Yum Jumbo Tom Yum Talay commercial.

This is a strange commercial; it’s just a burger. Looks very boring. But I wonder what ‘dressings’ they offer? There’s one of these next to Seafood City in Tukwila… Hmmm.
