#4375: Nissin Donbei Tempura Soba Western Version - Japan

Here’s a variety that I found in one of MiauMall’s Nakama Noodles subscription boxes! These boxes are discontinued, however you can find their stuff at MiauMall – here is what they said about this one – “Here’s a bowl that shows more love to the Kansai area! This tempura soba has a tasty traditional Japanese dashi made with kelp and bonito and is topped with crunchy tempura. And add the special Wakayama pepper, and you’ll have a flavorful Kansai soba! Instructions:”

This is interesting. I’ve tried the east and west versions of the kitsune udon I reblieve. Let’s try this regional version.

Detail of the lid (click to enlarge).

An instant noodle block.

A dual sachet – soup base on left, Wakayama pepper on the right.

Tempura!

Finished (click to enlarge). Added scallion and sesame seed. Buckwheat aren’t my favorite kind of noodle and nor were these. Broth was a very funky flavor and was just put off. 2.0 out of 5.0 stars.  JAN bar code 4902105004173.
