#4484: Nissin Kanzen Meal Abura Soba - Japan

This came out of a box from Frank over at 5amRamen! Check out his stuff over at www.instantramen.jp – use the coupon code THERAMENRATER for a discount! Super premium stuff!

Here’s what he has to say about this one – ‘This spicy soupless ramen is from Nissin’s Kanzen series. “Kanzen” translates to “complete”. The concept for this series is getting a wholly nutritious meal while being delicious. To be precise, this instant ramen has 33 nutrients! You wouldn’t guess this from the flavors. There’s a richness from the pork base and just enough spiciness from the chilies. In short, it’s a refreshing and nutritious.’

I’ve had a couple of abura soba varieties in the past and they’ve been quite good – this looks like a good one too!

Finished (click to enlarge). Added egg, chashu, narutomaki, sesame seed, and mung bean sprout. The noodle has a great bite to it; a little coarseness with it’s extra backbone and chew. The noodle is flat and imparts a very interesting mouthfeel. The flavor is an oily, slightly sweet, slightly spicy, and a little smoky. The included vegetable and meat is really exceptional – if kanzen means complete, they’re on the mark – really doesn’t need any external garnish. 5.0 out of 5.0 stars. JAN bar code 4902105963227.
