#4146: Acecook Supercup Max Shoyu Ramen - Japan

Here’s one that came in a Zenpop.jp box – use coupon code THERAMENRATER for a groovy discount!

Here’s what they have to say about this one – ‘New product for the holidays! In the Super Cup MAX (スーパーカップ MAX) series from Acecook, we find a familiar taste in a larger portion for
even more satisfaction. This shoyu ramen (しょうゆラーメン, soy sauce based ramen) comes with a mouthful of chashu pork! It’s a well-balanced pairing with flavored
vegetables. Onions, garlic and more are joining the umami party. The addition of pepper goes perfectly with the soy sauce soup, leaving a well-harmonized richness in your mouth after every bite. The aroma also tickles your senses as soon as the noodles are done cooking. The noodles are smoother in this renewal, and come with perfect texture. That will keep you craving more by the time you reach the end of your culinary journey, and the sharp aftertaste will only make it more satisfying.’

Supermax sounds like a prison, but I don’t think they could hold people in a large cup of noodles which I think is a good thing. Let’s cook up this big thing and see what happens! I should also mention – this box from Zenpop got banged up really bad and took a long time to get here – however that’s most certainly not the norm. I don’t know exactly why, but it seems like there are delays across the board. This particular cup/bowl got beat up the worst out of the pack and I can say that it didn’t open up and did pretty darn good despite that.

The noodle block.

A dry sachet of powder.

A wet sachet of liquid soup base.

A sachet of garnish.

Finished (click to enlarge). Added soft egg, chashu, mung bean sprouts, sesame seed, spring onion, narutomaki, and sansyo. Noodles actually came out pretty good on this one. The broth is a little thicker than I expected with a full bodied kind of shoyu hit to it. There were bits of corn, and the included piece of pork was just enough to make you want to get more pork. 3.5 out of 5.0 stars.  JAN bar code 4901071231682.
